Lead the design of an AI-driven insurance platform, focusing on user experience, data interaction, and collaboration with product and engineering teams.
Anzen was founded by former insurance and tech executives who’ve collectively scaled three unicorns. Backed by leading investors like Andreessen Horowitz (a16z) and Madrona, we’re on a mission to transform how companies choose and understand commercial insurance using AI.
Commercial insurance today runs on emails, PDFs, and lengthy underwriting cycles — often taking weeks to secure coverage. Anzen is building the world’s first AI insurance platform for brokers, radically improving how they manage submissions, select markets, and generate quotes for their clients.
About the Role
We’re looking for a Product Design Lead to shape the user experience at the heart of our platform. You’ll design intuitive, AI-centric workflows that help brokers operate faster and smarter and with a direct impact on hundreds of millions of dollars in insurance premiums. In this role, you’ll own the end-to-end design process, influence product strategy, and help build the foundation for a design-driven culture. You’ll work closely with product, engineering, and early customers to bring simplicity and clarity to an incredibly complex industry.
What You'll Do
- Design and prototype end-to-end user experiences for complex, data-heavy workflows.
- Translate abstract AI/ML capabilities into intuitive tools that brokers can trust and understand.
- Collaborate with Product and Engineering to ship features that balance user needs, business goals, and technical feasibility.
- Lead research efforts including interviews, usability tests, and feedback sessions to ensure the voice of the user is embedded in every decision.
- Define design principles and patterns that will scale as the product and team grow.
- Partner with leadership on new product areas, shaping early bets and helping navigate toward product-market fit.
What We're Looking For
- 7+ years of experience designing SaaS or enterprise platforms that help users interact with large amounts of data.
- Demonstrated ability to own the full design process from concept to execution to iteration.
- Experience with Figma and modern design systems.
- Comfortable working in fast-paced, ambiguous environments: you thrive when wearing multiple hats.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to advocate for design in cross-functional settings.
- Bonus: You’ve been a founding designer or an early design hire at a startup and helped build design from the ground up.
Why Join Us?
- Real impact: Your work will directly shape the core experience of an industry-changing platform.
- Top-tier team: Work with experienced builders and a supportive, ambitious team. Our team has helped scale multiple unicorns and also worked at some of the world’s best tech companies.
- Build from the ground up: You’ll set the bar for design quality, influence the product roadmap, and help define our culture.
