About the Role
A magical user experience isn’t just a bonus, it’s central to everything we build. We’re looking for a passionate and curious Product Designer to help us craft intuitive, engaging, and impactful experiences within our core platform.
You’ll work closely with Product and Engineering to improve the dashboard our users rely on every day, from managing bookkeeping and tax services to navigating complex financial workflows. Your job is to make those experiences feel simple, clear, and even delightful. If you’re excited to tackle real user problems and have an outsized impact at an early-stage startup, this is your chance.

Key responsibilities

  • Work in a small team to iteratively improve user experience
  • Take new features from ideation, to prototyping, to user testing, to production
  • Design clean, elegant web interfaces that are simple and intuitive
  • Collaborate with Product and Engineering to turn ideas into seamless user flows
  • Maintain and expand our Design System for consistency and efficiency
  • Report to the Head of Design while owning key areas of the product
  • Balance speed and quality to deliver high-impact work efficiently

Skills and qualifications

  • 2+ years of experience as a Product Designer
  • Strong UX thinking, visual design skills, and clear written communication
  • Deeply user-focused, you design with empathy and clarity
  • Problem-solver who takes initiative and drives projects to completion
  • Proactive, self-motivated, and collaborative by nature
  • Fluent in Figma (components, auto layout, design systems, etc.)
  • Genuine interest in our mission and the impact we’re creating

Bonus qualifications

  • Experience working at startups or within small, fast-moving cross-functional teams.
  • Understanding of front-end development. You don’t need to code, but knowing how code works helps you design smarter, more feasible interfaces.

What you need to know about the Seattle Tech Scene

Home to tech titans like Microsoft and Amazon, Seattle punches far above its weight in innovation. But its surrounding mountains, sprinkled with world-famous hiking trails and climbing routes, make the city a destination for outdoorsy types as well. Established as a logging town before shifting to shipbuilding and logistics, the Emerald City is now known for its contributions to aerospace, software, biotech and cloud computing. And its status as a thriving tech ecosystem is attracting out-of-town companies looking to establish new tech and engineering hubs.

Key Facts About Seattle Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 287,000; 13% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Amazon, Microsoft, Meta, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, cloud computing, software, biotechnology, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $3.1 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Madrona, Fuse, Tola, Maveron
  • Research Centers and Universities: University of Washington, Seattle University, Seattle Pacific University, Allen Institute for Brain Science, Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, Seattle Children’s Research Institute
