Job Summary:
The Product Manager owns the strategy, vision, operating model, and roadmap for assigned products, capabilities, or enterprise transformation initiatives. Essential Functions:

  • Coordinate readiness activities applicable to the assigned initiative, including requirements, contracting, access, environments, data availability, connectivity, and testing.
  • Ensure requirements, dependencies, approvals, and upstream inputs are confirmed before dependent build or implementation activities begin.
  • Oversee testing, business validation, implementation readiness, cutover or go-live activities, and business sign-off, as applicable.

  • Provide exception-based reporting that highlights workstreams, vendors, data domains, or decisions that are at risk, blocked, or pending action.
  • Monitor outcomes, defects, service performance, and issue resolution during hypercare and stabilization.
  • Transition implemented products, capabilities, data, or vendor oversight responsibilities to operational owners and incorporate lessons learned into the operating model.
  • Ensure assigned initiatives comply with applicable regulatory, privacy, security, contractual, and organizational requirements.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to business owners, technology partners, vendors, and executive leadership on product strategy, readiness, and performance.

And its status as a thriving tech ecosystem is attracting out-of-town companies looking to establish new tech and engineering hubs.

Key Facts About Seattle Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 287,000; 13% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Amazon, Microsoft, Meta, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, cloud computing, software, biotechnology, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $3.1 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Madrona, Fuse, Tola, Maveron
  • Research Centers and Universities: University of Washington, Seattle University, Seattle Pacific University, Allen Institute for Brain Science, Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, Seattle Children’s Research Institute
