We are a dream team obsessed with the uncomfortable excitement of discovering what happens when you merge creativity, intuition and cutting-edge technology. Come be a part of what’s next.

The Role

With more than 300 million members in over 190 countries, Netflix continues to shape the future of entertainment around the world. At the core of our member experience is the need to help members choose a great movie, show, or game that suits their context. Personalization is a long-standing strategy to bring great recommendations to our members, yet there is headroom to be even better by leveraging new AI technological advancements and in the context of Netflix's increasingly broad consumer offering.

Leveraging available data, you will craft and communicate a strategic roadmap for core personalization and see to its execution leading cross-functional teams of the industry’s best AI scientists and engineers, consumer insights researchers, and human data sourcing partners. As a high-leverage thought leader, you will have the ability to shape our thinking on how to evolve our product, and have a massive impact on how members enjoy our service.

In order to be successful in this position, you need to be able to work with world-class engineers, have the statistical acumen to collaborate with top-notch data scientists, the design sense to partner with a stellar experience design team, and the business sense to drive product goals and strategies. Demonstrated ability to build successful consumer-facing applications and algorithms, and a strong feel for the entertainment business are big pluses.

But its surrounding mountains, sprinkled with world-famous hiking trails and climbing routes, make the city a destination for outdoorsy types as well. Established as a logging town before shifting to shipbuilding and logistics, the Emerald City is now known for its contributions to aerospace, software, biotech and cloud computing. And its status as a thriving tech ecosystem is attracting out-of-town companies looking to establish new tech and engineering hubs.

Key Facts About Seattle Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 287,000; 13% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Amazon, Microsoft, Meta, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, cloud computing, software, biotechnology, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $3.1 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Madrona, Fuse, Tola, Maveron
  • Research Centers and Universities: University of Washington, Seattle University, Seattle Pacific University, Allen Institute for Brain Science, Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, Seattle Children’s Research Institute
