Level is a learning technology company dedicated to helping students build real academic and life skills with confidence and joy. We combine proven curriculum principles with world class interactive design to make meaningful practice something students want to come back to, not something they struggle through.

We support what teachers, schools, and parents are already doing by increasing student engagement with high quality, standards aligned practice that reinforces classroom learning. That’s why we’re building:

For students: Rewarding and motivating learning experiences that meet students where they are to build real academic proficiency.

For educators: Tools that fit naturally into instruction and help students stay engaged while reducing teacher workload.

For parents: Activities that help your kid catch up or get ahead, build confidence, and minimize homework battles, whether learning at school or at home.

We are committed to helping every person maximize their potential and live a life of meaning. It’s a difficult problem that requires brilliant people and tremendous effort over time.

Level is seeking a driven and technically fluent Senior Technical Product Manager to join our Online Platform department. This role sits at the intersection of engineering and business strategy, translating complex technical requirements into clear product roadmaps that deliver measurable user and organizational value. You'll serve as the connective tissue between engineering, design, and business stakeholders, owning the product lifecycle from discovery through delivery and ensuring that what we build is both technically sound and strategically aligned.

What You Will Do:

  • Product Roadmap Ownership: Define, prioritize, and maintain a clear product roadmap that reflects business goals, user needs, and technical constraints, communicating it effectively across the organization.

  • Technical Discovery & Scoping: Partner closely with engineering teams to evaluate feasibility, surface technical risks, and scope features with precision — translating ambiguous requirements into well-defined deliverables.

  • Stakeholder Alignment: Facilitate alignment across engineering, design, marketing, and leadership on product direction, trade-offs, and release decisions.

  • Requirements & Specifications: Author detailed product requirements documents (PRDs), user stories, and acceptance criteria that engineering teams can execute against with clarity and confidence.

  • Delivery & Execution: Drive sprint planning, backlog grooming, and release coordination, ensuring that teams are unblocked and shipping on schedule.

  • User Research & Feedback Loops: Champion the voice of the user by synthesizing qualitative and quantitative feedback, usability research, and support insights into product decisions.

  • Metrics & Performance Tracking: Define success metrics for product initiatives and monitor post-launch performance, using data to iterate and improve.

  • API & Platform Strategy: Own the product strategy for platform and API products, including developer-facing tooling, integrations, and infrastructure-adjacent features.

  • Experimentation: Design and oversee A/B tests and feature experiments, translating results into actionable next steps for the team.

  • Documentation & Process: Maintain thorough product documentation, including feature specs, decision logs, and process guides, to ensure continuity and institutional knowledge across the team.

Qualifications

Need to Have:

  • 6+ years of experience in product management, with at least 3 years in a technical product management role at a software or technology company.

  • Demonstrated ability to work directly with engineering teams and engage fluently in technical conversations around architecture, APIs, data models, and system design.

  • Strong track record of owning and delivering complex software products end to end, from discovery through launch and iteration.

  • Proficiency in agile methodologies and tools (Jira, Linear, Shortcut, or equivalent), with hands-on experience leading sprint ceremonies and managing backlogs.

  • Experience defining and tracking product KPIs, with comfort using analytics platforms (Mixpanel, Amplitude, Looker, or equivalent) to inform decisions.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a demonstrated ability to translate technical concepts for non-technical audiences and vice versa.

  • Proven ability to manage competing priorities, navigate ambiguity, and drive alignment in a fast-moving environment.

  • Strong judgment in making trade-off decisions across scope, quality, and timelines.

Nice to Have:

  • Background in software engineering, data science, or a related technical discipline.

  • Experience building and managing developer-facing products, APIs, or platform/infrastructure features.

  • Familiarity with cloud infrastructure concepts (AWS, GCP, Azure) and how they influence product architecture decisions.

  • Experience working in a B2B SaaS or enterprise software environment.

  • Exposure to AI/ML product development, including working with model teams or integrating LLM capabilities into products.

  • Knowledge of data privacy regulations (GDPR, CCPA) and their product implications.

  • Experience with design tools (Figma or equivalent) and a working familiarity with UX principles.

  • Proven success launching products in a 0-to-1 or early-stage environment.

  • Public-facing portfolio work, conference talks, or writing that demonstrates product thinking and communication skills.

Home to tech titans like Microsoft and Amazon, Seattle punches far above its weight in innovation. But its surrounding mountains, sprinkled with world-famous hiking trails and climbing routes, make the city a destination for outdoorsy types as well. Established as a logging town before shifting to shipbuilding and logistics, the Emerald City is now known for its contributions to aerospace, software, biotech and cloud computing. And its status as a thriving tech ecosystem is attracting out-of-town companies looking to establish new tech and engineering hubs.

Key Facts About Seattle Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 287,000; 13% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Amazon, Microsoft, Meta, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, cloud computing, software, biotechnology, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $3.1 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Madrona, Fuse, Tola, Maveron
  • Research Centers and Universities: University of Washington, Seattle University, Seattle Pacific University, Allen Institute for Brain Science, Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, Seattle Children’s Research Institute
