About UpDoc

At UpDoc, we are building the first clinically validated, physician-supervised AI agent that manages chronic diseases. We are an early-stage startup founded by Stanford physicians.

We are looking for a Product Manager to help build AI-powered healthcare products that support clinical care delivery. This is a hands-on role working closely with engineering, clinical, design, and leadership to turn complex problems into products that improve care for patients and providers.

This is a remote position.

Who You Are

You’re an experienced Product Manager who can move easily between strategy and execution. You bring strong product judgment, technical fluency, and the ability to turn ambiguous problems into clear plans and shipped products.

You’re comfortable working directly with engineers and clinicians, writing requirements, managing priorities and dependencies, and keeping cross-functional work moving. You thrive in an early-stage environment where ownership is high and processes are still being built.

What You’ll Do
  • Own products and features from discovery and definition through development, launch, and iteration.

  • Translate clinical workflows and user needs into clear product requirements and priorities.

  • Partner closely with engineering, clinical, and design throughout product development.

  • Drive day-to-day execution, managing priorities, timelines, dependencies, and blockers.

  • Help define how AI capabilities are incorporated into patient and provider experiences safely and effectively.

  • Conduct user research and use product data and feedback to guide decisions and improvements.

  • Define success metrics and evaluate product performance and impact.

  • Partner with clinical, regulatory, and quality teams to account for patient safety and regulatory requirements.

  • Help shape product strategy and establish scalable product processes as UpDoc grows.

What You’ll Need
  • 6+ years of product management experience building and shipping software products.

  • Experience owning 0→1 products, from discovery and definition through launch and iteration.

  • Strong project management and execution skills, with experience driving complex cross-functional work.

  • Strong technical fluency and experience partnering closely with software engineering teams.

  • Experience with AI/ML-enabled products or a strong understanding of modern AI product development.

  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and product judgment.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Comfortable operating in a fast-moving, early-stage environment with significant ownership.

  • Early-stage startup experience building products and processes from the ground up.

Highly Desired
  • Healthcare, digital health, or other regulated-industry experience.

  • Experience building AI-native or generative AI products.

  • Experience with clinician- or patient-facing products.

  • Familiarity with EHRs, FHIR/HL7, or healthcare interoperability.

  • Experience working with clinical, regulatory, or quality teams.

What you need to know about the Seattle Tech Scene

Home to tech titans like Microsoft and Amazon, Seattle punches far above its weight in innovation. But its surrounding mountains, sprinkled with world-famous hiking trails and climbing routes, make the city a destination for outdoorsy types as well. Established as a logging town before shifting to shipbuilding and logistics, the Emerald City is now known for its contributions to aerospace, software, biotech and cloud computing. And its status as a thriving tech ecosystem is attracting out-of-town companies looking to establish new tech and engineering hubs.

Key Facts About Seattle Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 287,000; 13% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Amazon, Microsoft, Meta, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, cloud computing, software, biotechnology, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $3.1 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Madrona, Fuse, Tola, Maveron
  • Research Centers and Universities: University of Washington, Seattle University, Seattle Pacific University, Allen Institute for Brain Science, Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, Seattle Children’s Research Institute
