Why Join QBench?
At QBench, we're shaking up the behind-the-times LIMS (Laboratory Information Management System) market with a modern lab operating system. Rated #1 on G2's Highest-Rated LIMS and Easiest-to-Use LIMS lists, we've built a platform that labs genuinely love — and depend on. Our customers are doing everything from detecting foodborne pathogens to enabling cutting-edge molecular diagnostics. We help them do it faster and better.
As we scale and build on strong product–market fit, product excellence becomes our leverage. We’re looking for a Product Manager excited about AI-augmented workflows and operational rigor — someone motivated to design scalable product systems, not just ship features.

The Role
We're hiring a Product Manager to join our growing product team and help us define what modern product management looks like. This is a rare opportunity to own transforming how our team works (by embedding AI into every PM workflow) and shaping what we build (by championing AI-powered features inside QBench itself).
You'll report to and partner closely with our Senior PM, embedded across engineering, design, sales, and customer success. QBench sits at the center of some of the most important work happening in labs today — and the product decisions you make will be felt by the scientists and technicians relying on it daily.
If you're energized by using AI as a force multiplier and shipping impactful features, this role is for you.

What You'll Own
1. AI-First PM Workflows
You'll be our internal champion for using AI to make the product team dramatically more effective. That means auditing how we currently work and relentlessly improving it:
- Prototyping: Synthesize research transcripts into early concepts using AI, then bring them to life with functional protoypes
- Sprint planning: Use AI to accelerate PRD drafts, sharpen acceptance criteria, and surface patterns in customer feedback before prioritization calls
- Release notes & product marketing: Own the full cycle — draft, refine, and publish faster
- Tool scouting: Continuously evaluate new AI tools and share what's actually moving the needle on PM and design velocity
You'll experiment, measure, and share what's working. What you build here will become the playbook for how QBench's product team operates.

2. AI Features in the Product
Labs are moving fast. They need AI that fits how they operate — deeply integrated, not bolted on. You'll:
- Partner with engineering to define, spec, and ship AI-native features inside QBench
- Get deep with customers to uncover where AI can eliminate their biggest pain points. Understand the real workflows, bottlenecks, and moments of frustration that AI could actually solve for lab managers
- Own executing the roadmap for our AI feature set from concept to launch

3. Core Product Management
Great product work starts with the fundamentals. You'll be expected to:
- Write clear, well-scoped PRDs and user stories
- Keep roadmap items well-defined and execution-ready
- Track delivery progress and proactively remove blockers
- Run structured discovery: user interviews, competitive analysis
- Collaborate cross-functionally with sales, CS, and engineering
- Track adoption and success metrics post-launch and iterate based on data

Who You Are
AI-native, not AI-curious. You already use AI tools as a core part of how you work—not as an experiment. You're opinionated about what works, and you're always testing what's next.
Systems thinker. You look at a process and instinctively ask: where is the friction, and how do we remove it? You don't just improve things—you document and scale improvements.
Customer-obsessed. You believe great product decisions start with understanding the person on the other end. You know how to run interviews, synthesize feedback, and turn messy qualitative data into clear direction.
Scrappy and autonomous. You don't wait for permission to make things better. You spot an opportunity and move quickly (using good judgement).
Collaborative. You make the people around you better. You communicate clearly, share context generously, and know when to align vs. when to just decide.

What Success Looks Like
- You've shipped AI features that cut hours out of customers' workflows
- The product team is measurably faster because of systems you put in place
- You own the execution of AI features with real customer insight behind it
- You've closed the gap between a customer pain point and a shipped solution — repeatedly

Tools You're Comfortable With (or Excited to Learn)
- AI assistants: Claude, ChatGPT, or similar — for drafting, synthesis, research, and ideation
- AI-native PM workflows: Claude Cowork, Figma Make
- Prototyping & design: Figma, Claude Code
- Emerging AI tools: We’re flexible and constantly experimenting! If you have tools you swear by that we aren’t already using, we’d love to hear about them.

Qualifications
- 2–5 years in B2B SaaS Product Management, ideally in complex or technical domains
- Experience using AI tools in professional workflows (ChatGPT, Claude, Figma Make, Jira, Airtable or similar)
- Strong understanding of modern product UX practices
- Experience building internal AI automation processes
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate in a remote-first environment
- Able to work within US-based time zones
Bonus points:
- Experience in workflow-heavy or regulated industries
- Experience in LIMS, laboratory software, or complex B2B systems

What We Offer
Compensation
- Base Salary: $90,000–$110,000
- Variable bonus tied to performance
Benefits
- 401k matching
- Health, Dental, Vision Insurance

What you need to know about the Seattle Tech Scene

Home to tech titans like Microsoft and Amazon, Seattle punches far above its weight in innovation. But its surrounding mountains, sprinkled with world-famous hiking trails and climbing routes, make the city a destination for outdoorsy types as well. Established as a logging town before shifting to shipbuilding and logistics, the Emerald City is now known for its contributions to aerospace, software, biotech and cloud computing. And its status as a thriving tech ecosystem is attracting out-of-town companies looking to establish new tech and engineering hubs.

Key Facts About Seattle Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 287,000; 13% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Amazon, Microsoft, Meta, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, cloud computing, software, biotechnology, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $3.1 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Madrona, Fuse, Tola, Maveron
  • Research Centers and Universities: University of Washington, Seattle University, Seattle Pacific University, Allen Institute for Brain Science, Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, Seattle Children’s Research Institute
