Reporting to the product leadership team, this role will support the development and optimization of product experiences across Epic’s platform. You will work closely with cross-functional partners in engineering, design, data, content, and marketing to help define features, improve user journeys, and drive measurable impact.
This role is especially well-suited for someone with an interest in search, recommendations, discovery, and product optimization, and who is excited about using data and experimentation to improve the user experience for children, families, and educators.

Key Responsibilities

• Partner with engineering, design, and data teams to define product requirements and deliver high-quality user experiences
• Analyze product performance and user behavior to identify opportunities for improvement
• Help optimize key user journeys such as content discovery, search, recommendations, onboarding, and engagement
• Translate user feedback, business needs, and data insights into clear product ideas and actionable next steps
• Contribute to product documentation, roadmaps, experiment design, and launch planning
• Monitor feature performance after launch and recommend improvements based on results
• Collaborate with stakeholders across teams to keep projects aligned and moving forward

Qualifications
• 1–3 years of experience in product management, product operations, strategy, analytics, consulting, or a related field
• Strong interest in digital consumer products, education technology, or personalization systems
• Preferred experience working on or closely supporting search, recommendation, discovery, ranking, or content optimization features
• Understanding of basic product optimization methods, such as A/B testing, funnel analysis, KPI tracking, and hypothesis-driven iteration
• Strong analytical thinking and comfort working with product and business metrics
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple priorities
• Comfortable working collaboratively in a remote, cross-functional environment
• Professional fluency in both English and Mandarin Chinese
• Passion for Epic’s mission to inspire kids to read and learn

Nice to Have
• Experience working with recommendation systems, search relevance, personalization, or content platforms
• Familiarity with SQL, analytics tools, or experimentation platforms
• Experience in consumer, marketplace, media, edtech, or other education-related products
• Experience working in a startup or fast-paced, high-growth environment
• Experience working with cross-functional global teams

Why Join Epic
• Be part of a mission-driven company shaping how millions of children read and learn
• Work on a product with meaningful impact, global reach, and strong growth potential
• Learn from a collaborative, thoughtful, and fast-moving product organization
• Help build experiences that are more personalized, engaging, and effective for young readers
• Enjoy the flexibility of a remote-friendly work environment

Compensation: Total compensation ranges from $90,000 to $120,000 annually (including base salary and performance-based bonus), flexible depending on experience and fit.

What you need to know about the Seattle Tech Scene

Home to tech titans like Microsoft and Amazon, Seattle punches far above its weight in innovation. But its surrounding mountains, sprinkled with world-famous hiking trails and climbing routes, make the city a destination for outdoorsy types as well. Established as a logging town before shifting to shipbuilding and logistics, the Emerald City is now known for its contributions to aerospace, software, biotech and cloud computing. And its status as a thriving tech ecosystem is attracting out-of-town companies looking to establish new tech and engineering hubs.

Key Facts About Seattle Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 287,000; 13% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Amazon, Microsoft, Meta, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, cloud computing, software, biotechnology, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $3.1 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Madrona, Fuse, Tola, Maveron
  • Research Centers and Universities: University of Washington, Seattle University, Seattle Pacific University, Allen Institute for Brain Science, Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, Seattle Children’s Research Institute
