Job Description:

At Cloudera, we empower people to transform complex data into clear and actionable insights. With as much data under management as the hyperscalers, we're the preferred data partner for the top companies in almost every industry.  Powered by the relentless innovation of the open source community, Cloudera advances digital transformation for the world’s largest enterprises.

Product Marketing - Writer/Editor

At Cloudera, we empower people to transform any data anywhere into valuable insight that they can trust. As the pioneer in big data, Cloudera empowers businesses to apply AI and assert control over 100% of their data, in all forms, improving security, governance, and real-time and predictive insights. The world’s largest brands across all industries rely on Cloudera to transform decision-making and ultimately boost bottom lines, safeguard against threats, and save lives.

As the Product Marketing - Writer/Editor, you will play a crucial role in shaping the perception and understanding of Cloudera’s platform in the market. You will be responsible for writing a wide range of content, including website copy, blog posts, brochures, and campaigns, with an aim to educate and engage our target audiences.

In this role, you will have a blend of creativity and strategic thinking, as you will continually develop new ideas for content that articulates  the value of our platform’s capabilities through compelling use cases.  You will collaborate with the design team, product managers, and partners to produce cohesive and impactful marketing materials that drive brand awareness and adoption.

As the Product Marketing - Writer/Editor, you will...

  • Own the content creation lifecycle for all core marketing materials, producing engaging assets across formats, including website copy, blogs, collateral, case studies, explainer videos, and social media posts.

  • Translate complex platform capabilities into compelling use cases and narratives that clearly articulate Cloudera's value to both data practitioner and data leader audiences.

  • Drive content strategy and ideation by continually proposing new content opportunities that map to market needs and platform feature releases.

  • Ensure brand and message consistency by acting as a brand champion and partnering with internal teams (Product, Design) and external agencies to maintain a cohesive voice and targeted audience alignment.

We are excited about you if you have...

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, English/Journalism, a technical discipline, or equivalent work experience.

  • 3+ years of experience in product marketing, with a strong understanding and experience with data, analytics, and AI space.

  • Exceptional writing skills, catering to diverse internal and external audiences, including data practitioners and leaders.

  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, adept at influencing partners and stakeholders at all levels.

  • Proven strategic thinking ability, effective prioritization skills, and a track record of driving results in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with diverse partner needs.

  • Experience marketing technology solutions within key Cloudera industries (e.g., telco, financial services, manufacturing, or healthcare).

This role is not eligible for immigration sponsorship.

The anticipated annual base salary range for this position is:

Illinois: $99K- $ 120K.

Individual compensation within the published range is determined by the candidate's skills, experience, qualifications, and primary work location. In addition to base pay, sales roles are eligible for Cloudera's commission plan, while non-sales roles are eligible for the corporate incentive plan. All employees receive a comprehensive benefits package.

  • Support work life balance with Unplugged Days

  • Flexible WFH Policy

What you need to know about the Seattle Tech Scene

Home to tech titans like Microsoft and Amazon, Seattle punches far above its weight in innovation. But its surrounding mountains, sprinkled with world-famous hiking trails and climbing routes, make the city a destination for outdoorsy types as well. Established as a logging town before shifting to shipbuilding and logistics, the Emerald City is now known for its contributions to aerospace, software, biotech and cloud computing. And its status as a thriving tech ecosystem is attracting out-of-town companies looking to establish new tech and engineering hubs.

Key Facts About Seattle Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 287,000; 13% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Amazon, Microsoft, Meta, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, cloud computing, software, biotechnology, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $3.1 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Madrona, Fuse, Tola, Maveron
  • Research Centers and Universities: University of Washington, Seattle University, Seattle Pacific University, Allen Institute for Brain Science, Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, Seattle Children’s Research Institute
