The selected candidate will be responsible for maturing and improving Production Engineering (PE) processes and tools associated to the Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul (MRO) business. This includes all aspects of the Production Engineering statement of work including Manufacturing, Industrial, Equipment & Tool and Product Review Engineering.
This role will tackle the challenges associated with Production Engineers performing work across many MROs, in many different locations, and seeking to implement right size standard processes specific to the MRO business. This includes training, skill needs, processes and outlining the PE SOW and roles. A key deliverable will be a Production Engineering MRO Playbook that captures all materials.
This role will report to the Production Engineering Functional Chief Engineer while also being part of the Boeing Global Services MRO Strategy Steering team seeking to improve the overall MRO business by updating requirements, process and local level documents for the MRO workflow. They will also ensure that the PE Design Practice ecosystem full captures all aspects of the MRO business.

- Manage employees performing engineering and technical activities in the area of Production Engineering across multiple locations and business units
- Develop and execute integrated organizational plans, policies and procedures and guides the development of business and technical strategies, goals, objectives
- Acquire resources for organizational activities, provides technical management of suppliers and leads process improvements
- Develop and maintain relationships and partnerships with customers, stakeholders, peers, partners and direct reports
- Provide oversight and approval of technical approaches, products and processes. Manages, develops and motivates employees and mid-level managers
- Work with BGS MRO Engineering Leaders, MRO Strategy Steering Team to:
- Define and Production Engineering MRO Playbook outlining job roles, MRO statement of work, skills and training, and top level MRO specific processes and tools
- Update requirements, processes and local level documentation for MRO workflow focus alignment with industry standards and requirements
- Partner to adjust management system, culture, and operating rhythm to serve MRO operating style, moving toward industry standards
- Ensure PE Design Practice Ecosystem captures all aspects of the MRO business
- Ensure PE command media taxonomy captures all aspects of the MRO business

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
- Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science
- The position must meet Export Control compliance requirements, therefore a "US Person" as defined by 22 C.F.R. § 120.15 is required. "US Person" includes US Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee
- Candidates must have at least one year of experience in a leadership role (team leader, temp manager, large scale cross functional project/program management, or formal manager experience) OR have completed the Boeing internal course "Exploring Leadership."
- 5+ years of experience in Production Engineering and/or Leading a Production Engineering team across different organization
- 1+ years of experience with Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul Execution
- 5+ years of experience leading or managing engineering teams
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
- Experience or working knowledge across multiple BCA, BDS, or BGS products and processes
- Experience in workforce management activities (talent acquisition, retention, development)
- Direct experience leading Fellowship members and high-level subject matter experts
- Strategic systems thinker
- Strong integration and collaboration skills
- Strong communicator at all levels
