This role is responsible for program system design, performance, and outcomes. You will build, improve, and oversee the structures that ensure programs run consistently, efficiently, and at high quality across all cohorts and formats.

This is a system ownership and coordination role.

Core System Ownership

The Program Director owns the program layer of systems, including:

  • Program architecture (how training, certification, and support groups connect)
  • Program pathways (participant journey across programs)
  • Program delivery models (structure, sequencing, formats)
  • Program SOPs and standards (how programs are designed to run)
  • Program quality assurance systems (consistency, fidelity in delivery)
  • Program capacity planning (cohorts, staffing models, scaling)
Key Responsibilities
  • Design, own, and continuously improve all GPS program systems
  • Ensure alignment across all programs (training, certification, support groups)
  • Oversee program performance, timelines, and delivery outcomes
  • Supervise Program Manager(s) and ensure strong execution
  • Identify gaps, inefficiencies, and risks—and implement solutions quickly
  • Ensure fidelity to the GPS model while scaling programs
  • Collaborate with leadership on program growth and strategic initiatives
Performance Expectations (What Success Looks Like)
  • Programs run consistently, on time, and without last-minute issues
  • Clear systems are in place and used by the team (not dependent on individuals)
  • Program pathways are organized, logical, and easy to follow
  • Problems are identified and resolved before impacting delivery
  • Program Manager(s) operate independently with strong accountability
  • Continuous improvements are implemented—not just identified
  • Minimal need for escalation—this role owns and resolves issues directly
What This Role Does NOT Own
  • Program scheduling (Zoom, calendars)
  • Session logistics and materials preparation
  • Participant communications or inbox
  • LMS, CRM, or data/reporting systems
  • Certification standards or evaluation decisions
What We’re Looking For
  • Strong system thinker with the ability to design and manage complex workflows
  • Proven project/program management experience in multi-program environments
  • High ownership mindset with strong decision-making ability
  • Proactive, fast-moving, and solutions-oriented
  • Strong leadership and accountability management skills
Qualifications
  • 5+ years in program leadership, operations, or project management
  • Demonstrated experience owning and improving systems
  • Experience managing multiple concurrent programs
  • Strong experience with Asana or similar tools
  • English fluency required; Spanish fluency preferred
Requirements
  • Completion of GPS Facilitator Training and Certification (or willingness)
  • Experience leading teams and managing program delivery at scale
  • Reliable remote work setup

What you need to know about the Seattle Tech Scene

Home to tech titans like Microsoft and Amazon, Seattle punches far above its weight in innovation. But its surrounding mountains, sprinkled with world-famous hiking trails and climbing routes, make the city a destination for outdoorsy types as well. Established as a logging town before shifting to shipbuilding and logistics, the Emerald City is now known for its contributions to aerospace, software, biotech and cloud computing. And its status as a thriving tech ecosystem is attracting out-of-town companies looking to establish new tech and engineering hubs.

Key Facts About Seattle Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 287,000; 13% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Amazon, Microsoft, Meta, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, cloud computing, software, biotechnology, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $3.1 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Madrona, Fuse, Tola, Maveron
  • Research Centers and Universities: University of Washington, Seattle University, Seattle Pacific University, Allen Institute for Brain Science, Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, Seattle Children’s Research Institute
