About the Role:

We are seeking a client-facing Programmatic Deals Sales Specialist to join our growing team. This role serves as the technical and strategic bridge between Sales, buyers (traders), Deal Ops, and Yield, ensuring Yahoo O&O PMP deals are structured correctly, delivered as intended, and scale efficiently. Success is defined by PMP Deal revenue impact, the ability to influence decision-makers, and the expansion of programmatic investments through consultative engagement.

Key Responsibilities:

Buyer-Facing Technical Authority: They are the person who can sit across from a trading desk and speak fluently about:

  • Deal structure logic

  • Auction dynamics

  • Priority types

  • Targeting tradeoffs

  • Win rates/bid density concepts

  • Supply constraints

  • DSP mechanics (high level)

Translating Buyer Intent Into Deal Structure: They ensure what’s promised can actually scale. They help capture the buyer goals, KPIs, and constraints; they advise on feasibility, recommend deal type, flag structural risks, and partner with Deal Ops to finalize mechanics.

Demand-Side Troubleshooting Leadership: Sales remains the relationship lead, but the Specialist leads technical debugging.

  • Diagnosing DSP-side restrictions

  • Interpreting trader feedback

  • Identifying misaligned targeting

  • Advising on pacing logic

PMP Health Oversight (Commercial + Technical): They monitor structural deal health, repeated underdelivery patterns, buyer behavior trends and structural inefficiencies across accounts. They identify which deals need restructuring, which buyers are good PMP candidates and which accounts should remain exchange-first.

Sales Enablement (Practical, Not Academic): They train Sales on real buyer scenarios, join early-stage PMP conversations, help Sales sound credible and refine the intake process.

Qualifications:

  • 8+ years in programmatic sales, ad tech, or audience strategy roles with a strong track record of revenue growth, with at least 5 years of proven sales experience persuading advertisers and decision-makers to invest in programmatic solutions.

  • Exceptional client-facing presentation and consultative selling skills.

  • Expertise in DSPs, audience segmentation, and data-driven programmatic activation

  • Strong understanding of audience targeting capabilities within DSPs

  • Comfort leveraging AI-enabled insights and automation tools within programmatic workflows to identify optimization opportunities, diagnose delivery issues, and improve deal performance.

The material job duties and responsibilities of this role include those listed above as well as adhering to Yahoo policies; exercising sound judgment; working effectively, safely and inclusively with others; exhibiting trustworthiness and meeting expectations; and safeguarding business operations and brand integrity.

What you need to know about the Seattle Tech Scene

Home to tech titans like Microsoft and Amazon, Seattle punches far above its weight in innovation. But its surrounding mountains, sprinkled with world-famous hiking trails and climbing routes, make the city a destination for outdoorsy types as well. Established as a logging town before shifting to shipbuilding and logistics, the Emerald City is now known for its contributions to aerospace, software, biotech and cloud computing. And its status as a thriving tech ecosystem is attracting out-of-town companies looking to establish new tech and engineering hubs.

Key Facts About Seattle Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 287,000; 13% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Amazon, Microsoft, Meta, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, cloud computing, software, biotechnology, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $3.1 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Madrona, Fuse, Tola, Maveron
  • Research Centers and Universities: University of Washington, Seattle University, Seattle Pacific University, Allen Institute for Brain Science, Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, Seattle Children’s Research Institute
