Who You Are
Prowess Consulting is looking for an execution focused Business Project Manager to support our client’s portfolio. This role is accountable for organizing work, managing timelines and dependencies, and producing reliable weekly and monthly execution reporting across defined workstreams in established Azure DevOps (ADO).
This role does not own strategy, prioritization, or solution design. Success is defined by strong delivery discipline, operational rigor, and accurate, leadership-ready visibility into execution status.  .
To be considered for this role, you must reside in one of the following states:  Alabama, Arizona, California, Colorado, Connecticut, Georgia, Illinois, Iowa, Michigan, Minnesota, Mississippi, Missouri, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Oregon, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Texas, Utah, Virginia, or Washington.
This is a full-time role that can be worked remotely, however, collaboration with teammates centered in the Pacific time zone will be essential. No third-party agencies, please.
The Role and Responsibilities
1. Planning, Timeline & Dependency Management
  • Establish and maintain clear scope, milestones, and delivery timelines per assigned workstream
  • Track progress, risks, and dependencies across concurrent initiatives
  • Ensure commitments reflected in monthly and quarterly communications are traceable to delivery plans
2. Weekly & Monthly Reporting
  • Produce weekly execution status updates covering progress vs. plan, key risks and mitigations, upcoming milestones, decisions or support required
  • Own monthly rollup reporting aligned to established comms strategy
  • Ensure reporting reflects current execution reality and delivery confidence
3. Monthly Communications Readouts
  • Prepare execution inputs for updates, Leadership readouts, communications materials
  • Maintain a forward-looking, ready to always communicate execution view
4. Operational Rigor & PM Cadence
  • Establish and maintain repeatable PM rhythms, including (using ADO as baseline) weekly workstream check-ins, risk and issue tracking, action and decision follow-ups
  • Where possible, surface execution gaps and delivery risks before they impact commitments
5. Tooling & PM Artifacts
  • Create and maintain lightweight PM artifacts within established tooling
  • Ensure ADO hygiene, including ownership, accurate due dates, current status, reliable rollup reporting
Success Measures
  • Leadership has clear, consistent visibility into execution status always
  • Delivery timelines are realistic, tracked proactively, and defended with data
  • Risks are surfaced early with clear mitigation paths
  • Monthly communications accurately reflect actual delivery progress, not aspirational plans
  • Program owners are able to focus on strategy and stakeholder alignment, not execution tracking
Qualifications
  • Five or more years of project management experience
  • Demonstrated success managing multiple parallel execution workstreams
  • Proficiency with Azure DevOps (Epics, Features, Stories, queries, dashboards)
  • Proven ability to manage timelines, risks, and dependencies in ambiguous environments
  • Strong organizational skills with high attention to detail
  • Proficient in Microsoft productivity tools
  • Experience with Dynamics CRM
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required
Additional Details
  • The offered pay range for this position is $85,000 – 100,000 per year, depending on experience and geographic location.

What you need to know about the Seattle Tech Scene

Home to tech titans like Microsoft and Amazon, Seattle punches far above its weight in innovation. But its surrounding mountains, sprinkled with world-famous hiking trails and climbing routes, make the city a destination for outdoorsy types as well. Established as a logging town before shifting to shipbuilding and logistics, the Emerald City is now known for its contributions to aerospace, software, biotech and cloud computing. And its status as a thriving tech ecosystem is attracting out-of-town companies looking to establish new tech and engineering hubs.

Key Facts About Seattle Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 287,000; 13% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Amazon, Microsoft, Meta, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, cloud computing, software, biotechnology, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $3.1 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Madrona, Fuse, Tola, Maveron
  • Research Centers and Universities: University of Washington, Seattle University, Seattle Pacific University, Allen Institute for Brain Science, Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, Seattle Children’s Research Institute
