Project Manager (Operations Manager)

Salary Range: $800 - $1,000 (Negotiable for highly qualified candidates)
Work Schedule:

  • Time Range: Between 7 AM and 7 PM CST

  • Working Hours: 9 hours per day (8 working hours + 1-hour break)

  • Days Off: TBD (2 days per week)

About the Role

Our client is a state-authorized driver education school based in Illinois, serving teens, adults, and specialized learners across the Chicagoland area. They offer a broad range of programs, from standard teen and adult driver education to chauffeur licensing, DUI services, and behind-the-wheel training. They're a growing operation with a strong community presence, and they're building the internal infrastructure to match their momentum.


They're looking for an experienced Project Manager / Operations Manager to help drive that growth. You'll own project execution, sharpen internal processes, support business development, and work closely with leadership to keep everything aligned and moving. If you're the type who takes initiative, communicates proactively, and gets things done without micromanagement, this role is a strong fit.


Core Responsibilities

Operations and Process Management

  • Develop and implement operational strategies that support company growth and efficiency.

  • Analyze existing workflows and identify opportunities for improvement and optimization.

Project Coordination and Execution

  • Plan, coordinate, and oversee multiple projects simultaneously to ensure timely delivery.

  • Guide team members, delegate tasks appropriately, and maintain accountability across all active projects.

  • Brainstorm and implement new initiatives to improve project outcomes and operational performance.

Reporting and Performance Tracking

  • Communicate consistently with leadership on project progress, KPI performance, and challenges with proposed solutions.

  • Create and track KPIs, reports, and operational goals to measure and drive results.

Business Development and Partnerships

  • Support sales planning, lead generation, and relationship-building efforts.

  • Build and maintain partnerships that expand company opportunities and align with overall business objectives.


Candidate Qualifications

Must-Haves

  • 4+ years of proven experience as a Project Manager, Operations Manager, or in a similar leadership role.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with a track record of clear, consistent reporting to leadership.

  • Experience creating and tracking KPIs, operational reports, and performance goals.

  • Solid understanding of sales strategy, operational planning, and business development.

  • Demonstrated ability to lead teams, delegate effectively, and drive accountability.

Good to Haves

  • Experience in the driving school, educational services, or a similar regulated service industry in the United States.

  • Background in customer service operations, scheduling, or compliance-driven environments.

  • Experience with operational scaling and partnership development.
