Job Responsibilities:
Your Responsibilities
  • Leads, generates, distributes and follows up on all RFQ's, as per the Global Purchasing Procedure for the commodities.
  • Leads quote process for customer RFQ's and works with strategic Purchasing at the early stages of program definition.
  • Evaluates/consolidates all quotes received from Category Managers for strategic commodities.
  • Leads quote reviews as required.
  • Prepares and presents all Quote documents per guidelines.
  • Supports Program Buyer for platform project development.
  • Communicates the necessary information to Program Buyer to assist in decision making and strategy formulation.
  • Leads sourcing decision processes.
  • Creates/Maintains the Platform Price Libraries.
  • Leads development of a strategic supply chain with commodity teams.
  • Assists in analysis of new trends in technology and the market with commodity teams.
  • Where applicable, leads quote & engineering team meetings during quote phase, and forwards status and open issues to relevant purchasing team members.
  • Tracks the cost model for purchased components and materials, as applicable, for pre-development programs.
  • Assists in negotiating the best possible prices.
  • Maintains supplier relationships that are both productive and mutually beneficial while continually searching for and renegotiating cost savings on new sourcing opportunities, with current and / or new suppliers.
  • Works in a mentorship capacity with peers to implement consistent policies, procedures, strategies and reporting.
  • Participates in continuous improvement efforts for products, tools, processes and programs.
  • Performs other duties as necessary in support of platform objectives

  • Able to travel (domestic and international) may be needed (25%)

  • Able to demonstrate strong and effective decision-making skills

Who we are looking for
Education
  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field. Master's degree preferred.

Experience
  • Minimum of 6 years of experience in automotive Purchasing or Supply Chain Management
  • Proven track record of successful Purchasing BOM management / cost down strategies
  • Proficiency in data analysis, tools, and enterprise systems (e.g. SAP, Enterprise One, Excel)
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
  • Knowledge of global trade policies
