We are looking for a QA Tester to join our team and work on testing strategy and execution. You will enjoy solving testing challenges while promoting a culture of quality throughout the organization. The ideal candidate has a background in a technical field, strong QA and UAT experience, and has experience working in small to midsize businesses. You are methodical, a self-starter, and passionate about quality which is key to the growth and success of a product.

Responsibilities

Test Planning and Strategy

  • Contribute to the development and execution of test plans and test cases for multiple products.
  • Execute test across various testing phases such as functional, stress, destructive, and performance.
  • Perform subsequent data reduction and reviews of executed tests.
  • Participate in design and specification reviews and use this information to design test plans.
  • Contribute to the execution of test plans and test cases for multiple products.
  • Promote QA productivity through automation, tools, and other best practices.
  • Verify and document bugs and testing fixes.

Test Execution and Bug Resolution

  • Configure, operate, and maintain tactical information systems. This includes development, test and laboratory representations of fielded systems, as well as the fielded systems themselves.
  • Be responsible for sustaining the lab systems (hardware and software) under test between test events.
  • Investigate and resolve operational problems in conjunction with other engineering and technical personnel.
  • Support field incident condition replication and resolution related to the system under test; generate user documentation for solution implementation or work around.
  • Support the security accreditation efforts for the assigned system.
  • Partner and collaborate with Engineers, Project and Product Managers, to develop a strong understanding of the testing objectives and priorities.
  • Participate in the Agile development process and track and report out sprint progress.

Test Support and Collaboration

  • Aid in the diagnosis and resolution of test anomalies to include system /network analysis and reconfiguration.
  • Communicate ideas to improve efficiency and/or repeatability.

Requirements
  • High School diploma and some college or technical training
  • 3+ years of related experience
  • Experience with manual and integrated HW/SW testing
  • Basic computer skills including knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
  • Strong problem solving, analytical and interpersonal skills
  • Strong ability to communicate and collaborate across all levels of the organization
  • Possess strong organization skills with an ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Flexibility to balance and switch focus across multiple project priorities
  • Ability to carry 30 pounds.
  • Required to lift 5-10 pounds repetitively.
  • Willing to work outside on pavement or uneven terrain on a regular basis for testing needs.
  • Experience with JIRA, Jenkins, TestRail, and/or SW Coding is a plus.
  • Experience in writing and performing software test plans/procedures.

Compensation:

  • DCI is proud to offer comprehensive compensation packages including competitive base pay and discretionary quarterly profit sharing bonuses to all part-time and full-time team members. Base pay is reviewed at a minimum on an annual basis.
  • Pay range: $70,500 - $87,000 per year. To ensure equity, our compensation philosophy is to bring people into new roles in the range of the mid-point of that role. Factors considered for pay include the level of skill, experience, training, external market factors, and internal value.
  • Profit sharing bonus: Over the last 3 years, quarterly bonuses ranged between 11% and 17%. Future bonuses could be higher or lower depending on company profits.
