BAE Systems is seeking a Quality Specialist Manager. This is a hybrid-friendly position that may be supported from a base in Aiken, SC or York, PA or Anniston, AL. In this role as a Quality Specialist Manager, you will be responsible for the following:
  • Analyzing and assessing project quality risk areas and developing risk mitigation plans to minimize potential failures
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams to identify and prioritize continuous improvement opportunities, focusing on process efficiency, quality, and cost reduction
  • Developing and implementing process improvements, ensuring that changes are properly documented and communicated to stakeholders
  • Conducting regular reviews of PFMEA and Control Plans, updating and refining them as necessary to ensure they remain relevant and effective
  • Providing training and guidance to team members on PFMEA and Control Plan development, implementation, and maintenance
  • Participating in internal and external audits, ensuring compliance with quality standards and regulatory requirements
  • Developing and tracking key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the effectiveness of continuous improvement initiatives
  • Collaborating with engineering teams to ensure that design and development activities are aligned with quality and reliability requirements
  • Identifying and implementing corrective actions to address quality issues, including:
    • Root cause analysis and corrective action planning
    • Development and implementation of corrective action plans to address quality issues
    • Verification and validation of corrective actions to ensure effectiveness
    • Closure of corrective actions and documentation of results
  • Developing and maintaining a corrective action database to track and trend quality issues, identify areas for improvement, and measure the effectiveness of corrective actions
  • Developing and implementing procedures for ensuring that corrective actions are properly documented, verified, and validated
  • Ensuring that all corrective actions are properly closed and documented, and that lessons learned are incorporated into future projects and processes

Required Education, Experience, & Skills
  • Typically requires a Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Quality, or a related field and eight (8) years of experience, or the overall equivalent.
  • Minimum five (5) years of experience in quality engineering, continuous improvement, or a related field.
  • Experience with quality management principles, including ISO 9001 and AS9100.
  • Well-versed with PFMEA and Control Plan development, implementation, and maintenance including regular reviews, updating, and refining them as necessary.
  • Training experience to support guidance to team members on PFMEA and Control Plan development, implementation, and maintenance.
  • Ability to develop and implement process improvements, ensuring that changes are properly documented and communicated to stakeholders.
  • Experience participating in internal and external audits and ensuring compliance with quality standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Able to develop and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the effectiveness of continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Strong communication skills to support teamwork and collaborative efforts. Teambuilding and interactive skills for collaborating with engineering teams to ensure that design and development activities are aligned with quality and reliability requirements.
  • Ability to identify and implement corrective actions to address quality issues, including root cause analysis, corrective action planning, and verification and validation of results.
  • Able to develop and maintain a corrective action database to track and trend quality issues, identify areas for improvement, and measure the effectiveness of corrective actions.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, prioritizing multiple tasks and projects.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.

Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills
  • Certified Quality Engineer (CQE) or Certified Reliability Engineer (CRE) certification.
  • Six Sigma Green Belt certification.
  • ISO 9001 or AS9100 auditor certification.
  • Weld and or machining experience.
  • Microsoft Project skills
  • A3, RCCA, and other advance problem solving tools
  • Lean Experience with lean manufacturing principles and six sigma methodologies.
  • Experience with data analysis and statistical process control.
  • Experience with quality management software, such as IQS or similar systems.

Pay Information
Full-Time Salary Range: $105835 - $179920
Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
