About Buzz Solutions
Buzz Solutions builds PowerAI, a computer vision platform that finds hardware defects in utility transmission and distribution infrastructure and delivers those findings straight into the systems where utilities actually make asset decisions. Our customers include Dominion, AEP, NYPA, and Ameren. We integrate today with Esri's ArcGIS and IBM Maximo, and we work alongside capture partners such as Skydio.
We are a team of roughly 60 people scaling across sales, engineering, customer success, and operations. Every hire we make now shapes the company we become, and this role will be instrumentally involved in the processes we create and the functions we set up to position the company for scale.
The role
Own the operational backbone of how Buzz hires, onboards, and keeps its people engaged. That means running the hiring lifecycle end to end (scheduling, scorecards, offers, and onboarding), owning our applicant tracking system, keeping employee records clean and compliant, and bringing our culture and values to life for a distributed team.
This is deliberately a hybrid charter. It requires someone who can coordinate a five-interview loop across three time zones in the morning, walk a new hire through benefits enrollment in the afternoon, and catch an outdated employee record before it becomes a compliance problem the following week. Candidates who are strong at recruiting coordination but also interested in people operations will do well here.

Responsibilities

  • The hiring lifecycle
    • You own every candidate's path from first scheduled interview through their first day. That includes coordinating interviews across departments and time zones, managing candidate communication at every stage, preparing offers, and keeping a clear, steady line of communication between hiring managers and candidates. When a loop stalls, you are the person who notices and moves it.
  • Greenhouse, our applicant tracking system
    • You own Greenhouse, not just the data entry. Every candidate sits in the right stage, every scorecard is completed on time, and every report is current enough that leadership can trust it without double-checking. You hold hiring managers to the process, kindly and persistently.
  • Candidate experience and sourcing
    • Every candidate should leave the process with a positive view of Buzz. You will also support sourcing for open roles across the organization, building pipeline alongside hiring managers rather than waiting for applicants to arrive.
  • Onboarding and the employee lifecycle
    • A signed offer is not a successful hire. You'll run onboarding so that new team members arrive prepared and productive: welcome communications and schedules, walking them through our employee handbook, benefits enrollment, and policies, and making sure nothing falls through the gap between offer and day one.
  • HR compliance and employee records
    • You maintain accurate employee records, proactively identify outdated or missing information, and flag compliance risks to the People Operations team before they become problems. You'll support documentation and audits as they arise.
  • Culture, engagement, and recognition
    • You bring the Buzz Solutions culture and values to life, including coordinating employee engagement activities and events, helping run employee recognition programs, and constantly looking for ways to bring a distributed team together.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources, business administration, or related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in recruiting coordination, people operations, or similar role, ideally a high-growth company where process was still being built
  • Owned an applicant tracking system, not just used one, including stages, scorecards, reporting, and hygiene.
  • Exceptional organization. You can run many hiring loops in parallel without dropping a candidate or a hiring manager.
  • Clear, warm, professional communication with candidates, new hires, and senior leaders alike.
  • Discretion with confidential information, including compensation, offers, and employee records.

  • Major Tech Employers: Amazon, Microsoft, Meta, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, cloud computing, software, biotechnology, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $3.1 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Madrona, Fuse, Tola, Maveron
  • Research Centers and Universities: University of Washington, Seattle University, Seattle Pacific University, Allen Institute for Brain Science, Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, Seattle Children’s Research Institute
