The Regional Director of Business Operations reports directly to the COO and is accountable for delivering operational excellence across their region. This includes driving results and revenue growth, recruiting and developing top provider talent, and ensuring the highest level of patient satisfaction. The RDBO maintains full accountability for regulatory compliance, patient safety, and financial stewardship of departmental budgets — all in alignment with objectives established by the COO.

 

Compensation:  $140,000 - $180,000 + Annual Bonus Potential


This position will oversee offices in Florida. Must either currently live in the greater Tampa Bay region or be willing to relocate before starting. Weekly travel to offices within the region is required. 


Responsibilities
  • Drive patient satisfaction optimization through continuous monitoring of patient feedback, timely resolution of service concerns, and implementation of best practices across all regional locations
  • Maintain full P&L responsibility including managing and improving revenue, reducing clinical costs, and improving clinical margin across all service lines, including cosmetic revenue
  • Monitor and review provider schedules to maximize capacity utilization, patient encounters, and access across the region
  • Monitor and actively manage labor expense relative to budget, analyzing staffing levels, scheduling efficiency, and overtime to ensure labor costs remain within approved targets; identify opportunities to optimize workforce deployment without compromising patient care or service quality
  • Build and foster strong, collaborative relationships with physicians and business leaders to align on business strategies, enhance operational performance, and improve patient services
  • Recruit, develop, and retain top clinical and administrative talent, including onboarding and accelerating the productivity of new and ramping providers, to support regional growth and a high-performance culture
  • Partner with Compliance, Finance, and Human Resources departments to ensure adherence to company policy and applicable federal and state regulations
  • Provide consistent on-site leadership across multiple practice locations, typically spending four days per week in the field to ensure operational standards and team accountability
  • Travel monthly to corporate headquarters in Maryland to attend operational meetings and actively represent regional business interests

Qualifications
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software
  • Excellent result driven and people leadership capability
  • In-depth knowledge of health care finance best practices and standards
  • Understanding of health and safety standards in the medical industry
  • Excellent organization and time management skills
  • Knowledge of and compliance with HIPAA standards
  • Ability to think strategically to ensure the best possible outcomes and approach to an issue
  • Ability to plan, organize, prioritize, delegate, and manage tasks

Licensure/Certifications/Education

Education and Experience: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in healthcare administration, public health, health information management, or a related field
  • Minimum five years’ experience in a medical office or similar setting
  • Master’s degree in public health, health information management and technology, health care administration or business administration is preferred
  • Previous experience in Dermatology is preferred
  • Minimum of 5 years overseeing operations across multiple business units or locations
  • Minimum of 5 years managing P&L responsibility, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial performance accountability
  • Minimum of 10 years of leadership experience directly managing and developing teams
  • Availability to work a minimum of 40 hours per week, 5 days per week, with flexibility as business needs require
  • 80% travel within the region on a weekly basis

Physical Requirements: 

  • Ability to remain in a stationary position for extended periods while working at a computer
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
  • Ability to travel for extended periods via car, train, plane, or other means as business needs require
  • Ability to lift up to 30 pounds occasionally
