ACCIONA Energía is seeking a Regional Safety Specialist to support safety, training, and quality initiatives across operational renewable energy sites within a designated region. This role is pivotal in maintaining industry-leading safety standards, supporting site teams, and ensuring consistent implementation of corporate safety programs.

Job Description

Responsibilities:

  • Support technicians by promoting safe work practices, conducting safety observations and drills, standardizing OJT and PPE/tool use, coordinating training, and sharing best practices across sites and regions.

  • Partner with Site Managers to identify improvement opportunities, provide safety guidance, support audits and training sessions, ensure accurate LMS documentation, and strengthen site safety committees.

  • Support corporate safety through incident investigations and root-cause analysis, driving lessons learned, conducting annual safety audits, ensuring compliance with OSHA and internal standards, and assisting with site-specific safety programs (LOTO, confined space, emergency response, etc.).

  • Maintain thorough documentation of safety activities, act as a liaison between sites and corporate teams after incidents, and collaborate with HR on clinic partnerships and emergency action plan updates.

Required Skills and Competencies

About you:

 

You’re a proactive and collaborative safety professional with a passion for building strong safety cultures. You bring both field experience and leadership capabilities, with a practical understanding of industry regulations and a commitment to continuous improvement. 

  • Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety, Industrial Technology, or related field is preferred (or equivalent combination of education and experience). 

  • 2+ years of safety or technician experience in the energy or industrial sectors. 

  • Familiar with OSHA, ISO, ANSI, and other safety and quality standards. 

  • Skilled at coaching teams, conducting audits, and implementing safety improvements. 

  • Excellent communication, organizational, and leadership abilities. 

  • Comfortable traveling up to 40% and working outdoors when needed. 

  • Experience with LMS platforms, Maximo, or audit tools is a plus. 

  • Spanish or French language skills are a bonus. 

  • Valid driver’s license and ability to obtain a U.S. passport.

Working Conditions:

  • Base Pay: $75,000–$105,000 annually (based on experience and qualifications)
