POSITION TITLE:  Regional SBA Sales Manager

SUMMARY

The Regional SBA Sales Manager will manage a team of SBA Relationship Managers (RMs) within a geographic territory who are responsible for acquiring new clients with annual sales from $3M-$10M and loan sizes typically $500K-$5M to drive SBA growth and profitability. The Regional Leader will develop and implement sales strategies, hiring and coaching SBA RMs, cultivating and maintaining strong relationships with external network and internal partners to maximize results. Collaborates with SBA Sr Leadership and credit on complex SBA transactions. Influences and involved in the strategic direction of SBA programs, particularly related to human capital, processes and procedures, innovation, risk management and technology investments.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Manages SBA RMs within a designated regional territory
  • Takes the lead in coordinating hiring, onboarding, career development, employe engagement and book growth for assigned SBA RMs
  • Drives to achieve production result for the SBA division 
  • Works with SBA Operations Manager and National Credit manager to ensure SBA sales team is aware of all SBA regulations, internal process and credit standards
  • Maintains appropriate credit quality for regional portfolio based on risk-adjusted returns 
  • Advocates for the client in obtaining credit approvals 
  • Increases booking of assets and enhances shareholder value by maintaining disciplined pricing parameters and risk management 
  • Conducts regular visits within assigned region to educate and promote SBA internally and externally
  • Supports the high-performance sales culture to increase SBA revenue and surpass goals; actively manages to performance metrics while taking a pro-active performance management approach
  • Works with strategy, credit, and finance partners to help create financial forecasting for the program.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in business experience
  • A minimum of 7 years of banking or financial services sales experience
  • Strong understanding of SBA loan programs, credit and experience working within SBA regulations
  • Demonstrated ability to manage a sales and activity pipeline for a client facing team
  • Demonstrated experience in setting and executing against business strategies, including building financial projections
  • Independent judgment, visionary, growth mindset and strong leadership skills

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • A minimum of 3 years of management experience preferred
  • Public speaking
  • Proven high-performance in the SBA space

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS

This position is eligible to earn a base salary in the range of $150,000 to $200,000 annually depending on location and job-related factors such as level of experience. Compensation for this role also includes eligibility for short-term incentive compensation and deferred incentive compensation subject to individual and company performance.
