As the Regional Workplace Events Manager (North America) you'll be responsible for planning and executing employee events for Atlassians across America while also supporting global event programs. This role partners closely with the Head of Workplace Events, regional stakeholders, and external vendors to deliver high-impact experiences that foster connection, engagement, and belonging to Atlassian.
This position is office-based in Bellevue, Washington, or San Francisco, California. You will report to the Head of Workplace Programs, and your craft lead will be the Head of Workplace Events, both located in Sydney. This role is considered office-based (as in you'll need to be in the office regularly; see Atlassian's office-based roles policy: Office-Based Roles .

Responsibilities - What You'll Do
  1. Operational Excellence
    Our team is dedicated to creating high-quality, impactful internal employee events and experiences that support business goals. In this role, you will oversee design, planning, and execution of employee events across the North America region whilst ensuring global consistency of our programs. You are expected to be an expert in your field.
  2. Strategic partnership
    You will collaborate with our site teams, regional and global counterparts, business leaders, and stakeholders from across the business to identify event needs, set priorities, and deliver engagement-driven programs.
  3. Communications & engagement
    Develop and execute communications plans for events, working with the Event Team Comms Lead and your Craft Lead and peers to tailor messaging for local audiences and enhance visibility.
  4. Continuous improvement
    Identify potential risks and develop strategies to ensure successful event outcomes. Produce post-event retrospectives, analyze feedback, manage QBRs and recommend improvements for future events and operational efficiency.
  5. Financial Management
    Manage the regional events budget and provide comprehensive financial oversight, including forecasting, scoping, vendor negotiation, procurement, budget preparation, ongoing budget oversight, and financial reporting, to ensure all events are delivered within approved budgets and maximize ROI.

Qualifications - Your Background
  • 10+ years of event production and management experience, including end-to-end delivery of in-person events with expertise in planning, financial management, marketing, and delivery.
  • Strong financial acumen and ability to present data and recommendations effectively to stakeholders.
  • Experience leading teams and managing external vendors/partners.
  • Excellent communication skills, with experience developing and executing internal communications for diverse audiences.
  • Strategic thinker and problem solver, able to identify trade-offs and deliver results within time and budget constraints.
  • Established network of event production vendors & partners, and an event agency background preferred but not essential.
  • Degree-level education preferred (not necessarily Events specialised).
  • Experience in a fast-paced, dynamic environment is highly valued.
  • Demonstrated ability to drive performance through collaborative program management and stakeholder engagement.

Compensation
At Atlassian, we strive to design equitable, explainable, and competitive compensation programs. To support this goal, the baseline of our range is higher than that of the typical market range, but in turn we expect to hire most candidates near this baseline. Base pay within the range is ultimately determined by a candidate's skills, expertise, or experience.
In the United States, we have three geographic pay zones. For this role, our current base pay ranges for new hires in each zone are:
Zone A: USD 135000 - USD 176250
Zone B: USD 121500 - USD 158625
Zone C: USD 112500 - USD 146875
This role may also be eligible for benefits, bonuses, commissions, and equity.
