Summary

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Release Strategist to support technology transformation and change initiatives within a complex financial services environment. This role will assist in coordinating technology releases, supporting change management activities, and ensuring operational readiness across teams and platforms. The ideal candidate is eager to learn, comfortable working in a fast-paced, regulated setting, and able to communicate effectively with both technical and business stakeholders.


 

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the coordination of technology change across platforms, teams, and business functions to enable seamless delivery.

  • Assist in the planning and execution of release strategies for technology initiatives, ensuring alignment with business objectives and compliance requirements.

  • Help assess and communicate the business, operational, and technology impact of change initiatives to project leads and management.

  • Track and report on dependencies, risks, and cumulative change effects, escalating issues as needed.

  • Contribute to M&A technology integration activities, including phased rollouts of platforms, controls, and processes.

  • Apply Agile and ITIL methodologies to support disciplined change flow, service stability, and readiness.

  • Prepare clear, concise reporting and presentations for project and governance forums.

  • Collaborate with technology, operations, risk, and business teams to drive alignment and informed decision-making.

  • Ensure adherence to internal quality standards and regulatory frameworks (e.g., SOX, GDPR).

  • Partner with end-user engagement and communications teams to support effective change adoption.

  • Participate in continuous improvement efforts, capturing lessons learned and suggesting process enhancements.


 

Required Qualifications

 

Technical Skills

  • 2–4 years of experience in technology change, release management, transformation, or integration roles (preferably within financial services or other regulated industries).

  • Familiarity with Agile delivery and ITIL practices.

  • Experience with release management or project management tools (e.g., ServiceNow, Jira, Azure DevOps).

  • Basic understanding of cloud platforms, DevOps concepts, or CI/CD pipelines is a plus.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Ability to quickly learn new enterprise systems and adapt to evolving technology environments.

  • Experience supporting software or platform releases in a cross-functional team setting.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) and Power Platform (Power BI) for reporting and documentation.

  • Experience gathering and documenting requirements or process improvements.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in regulated industries (finance, healthcare, government) is a plus.

  • Exposure to M&A integration or large-scale technology transformation projects.

  • Experience supporting cross-functional teams or multiple workstreams.

  • Familiarity with risk management or compliance processes.

  • Interest in developing expertise in release and change management best practices.

  • Demonstrated ability to work with geographically distributed teams.

  • Experience supporting user acceptance testing (UAT) or post-release support activities.

  • Exposure to enterprise communication platforms (e.g., Teams and SharePoint) for collaboration and change communications.

  • Ability to create process documentation and training material.

  • Participation in process improvement or automation initiatives.

  • Interest in emerging technologies such as AI, machine learning, or data analytics.

For New York, NY Only the salary range for this position is USD$115,000.00 - USD$147,500.00 . Additionally, employees are eligible for an annual discretionary bonus, and benefits including healthcare, leave benefits, and retirement benefits. BlackRock operates a pay-for-performance compensation philosophy and your total compensation may vary based on role, location, and firm, department and individual performance.
