Job Description

The Robotics Process Automation (RPA) Developer II designs, develops, and supports scalable automation solutions that drive operational efficiency and reduce manual effort across the bank. This role partners closely with business and technology teams to identify opportunities, deliver automation solutions, and enhance existing processes. The position plays a key role in advancing Origin Bank’s automation strategy through reliable execution, strong documentation, and continuous improvement of RPA capabilities. This role operates with moderate independence, contributing to solution design and supporting the full automation lifecycle from development through production support.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Designs, builds, and enhances automation solutions using RPA platforms with limited supervision, including independent delivery of small-to-medium complexity automations.
  • Collaborates with business stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into automation workflows and technical designs.
  • Executes testing plans, validates automation performance, and communicates results to stakeholders.
  • Designs automations with appropriate exception handling, logging, and recovery mechanisms to ensure reliability and resiliency.
  • Monitors the Blue Prism control room, triages exceptions, and determines resolution actions, including escalation where appropriate.
  • Supports production automations and participates in issue resolution and root cause analysis.
  • May participate in an on-call or modified schedule to support control room coverage and business continuity.
  • Works within a structured development lifecycle, including development, testing, deployment, and post-production support.
  • Integrates automation solutions with APIs, databases, and file-based systems as needed to support business processes.
  • Maintains comprehensive technical documentation for processes, objects, and supporting materials in accordance with departmental standards.
  • Follows RPA best practices and contributes to improvements in standards, governance, and operating procedures.
  • Identifies opportunities to improve process efficiency and scalability.
  • Shares automation knowledge and provides guidance to team members to support skill development and consistency in delivery.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience
  • 2–4 years of experience in a business-facing IT, automation, systems, or process improvement role, including experience analyzing and improving business processes
  • Demonstrated ability to develop, test, deploy, and support technical solutions within a structured development lifecycle
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across business and technical teams.
  • Experience working with stakeholders to identify automation opportunities and translate requirements into solutions

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 2+ years of experience with RPA platforms (e.g., Blue Prism)
  • Experience with one or more programming or scripting languages (e.g., Python, VBA, Java)
  • Experience working with APIs (REST/SOAP) and system integrations
  • Experience with data handling and analysis (e.g., Excel, SQL, file-based processing)
