In this role, you’ll be responsible for developing new business across SMB, mid-market, and enterprise customer segments. You’ll own the sales process from prospecting and qualification through discovery, solution positioning, negotiation, and close, with a strong emphasis on creating new pipeline through outbound activity. 

This is an opportunity for a motivated, results-oriented seller who is energized by helping build a growing software business. Auction Software is entering an important new chapter within Liquidity Services, and this role will have the opportunity to help shape how we engage in the market, develop pipelines, win new customers, and refine our go-to-market approach as the business scales. 

The ideal candidate is a proven hunter with strong software sales experience, excellent communication skills, and a track record of consistently generating pipeline and closing new business. Success in this role requires discipline, curiosity, strong opportunity management, and the ability to operate effectively in an evolving environment where processes and playbooks will continue to mature.

Responsibilities
  • Meet or exceed revenue and performance targets through the acquisition of new Auction Software customers 
  • Build and manage a consistent pipeline of qualified opportunities through proactive outbound prospecting and inbound lead conversion 
  • Identify and engage target accounts across SMB, mid-market, and enterprise customer segments 
  • Prospect through phone, email, LinkedIn, and other sales engagement and enablement platforms 
  • Qualify opportunities, understand business requirements, and develop solutions aligned with customer objectives 
  • Own the full sales process from initial prospecting and discovery through product positioning, proposal, negotiation, and close 
  • Develop relationships with key stakeholders and decision-makers throughout the buying process 
  • Lead and actively participate in customer meetings, discovery sessions, demonstrations, and sales presentations 
  • Create and execute account and opportunity strategies designed to advance deals and achieve revenue objectives 
  • Collaborating with Product, Marketing, Client Success, technical resources, and other cross-functional teams throughout the sales process 
  • Maintain accurate and timely accounts, opportunity, pipeline, activity, and forecast information within HubSpot and relevant business systems 
  • Provide market feedback related to customer needs, competitive activity, pricing, positioning, and product requirements 
  • Contribute to the continued development of sales messaging, qualification standards, outbound strategies, and go-to-market processes as the Auction Software business scales 
Qualifications

Education/ Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree  
  • 3–5 years of successful quota-carrying software or SaaS sales experience.
  • Demonstrated success selling into SMB, mid-market, or emerging enterprise customer segments.
  • Proven success independently generating qualified pipeline through outbound prospecting. 
  • Demonstrated experience building pipeline through outbound prospecting 
  • Experience managing the full sales cycle from prospecting and qualification through negotiation and close.

Skills and Ability:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills 
  • Strong prospecting, discovery, presentation, negotiation, and closing skills 
  • Strong understanding of outbound sales techniques and modern prospecting practices 
  • Proficiency with HubSpot, LinkedIn, and modern sales enablement and prospecting platforms 
  • Strong opportunity management, pipeline management, and forecasting discipline 
  • Familiarity with MEDDIC, MEDDPICC, or similar structured sales qualification methodologies preferred 
  • Strong analytical, critical-thinking, and problem-solving skills 
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications including Excel and PowerPoint 
  • Highly motivated, disciplined, and results-oriented with a strong sense of ownership and accountability 
  • Demonstrated hunter mentality with the ability and willingness to create opportunities rather than rely solely on inbound demand 
  • Comfortably operating in a growing business where processes, tools, and go-to-market strategies will continue to evolve 
  • Ability to learn quickly, adapt to new information, and incorporate feedback into the sales process 
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively across multiple functions 
  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail and follow-through 
  • Ability to manage multiple opportunities and priorities in a fast-paced environment 
  • Curiosity, coachability, and a willingness to learn and adapt as the Auction Software business and go-to-market motion continue to evolve. 

Work Conditions/ Physical Demands:

  • This position is based in our Richardson, Texas office and follows a hybrid work model. Regular onsite time with the team is an important part of the role, helping support collaboration, faster decision-making, shared learning, and strong cross-functional partnership as we continue building the Auction Software business. 
  • The employee must be able to frequently use a computer, keyboard, mouse, and other standard office equipment, as well as communicate effectively with colleagues, customers, and business partners. Occasional lifting of office materials or equipment up to 15 pounds may be required.

Travel

  • Occasional travel may be required for meetings, training, or business needs (up to 10%).

Pay & Benefits:

Compensation is determined by various factors such as location, education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as internal and external equity and organizational needs.

In addition to base pay, this role is eligible for other compensation, such as commission.

The salary range for this position is $77,700 to $90,000 annually.  The variable pay includes commission which is based on sales. The posted range reflects our national average range for the job. We may ultimately pay more or less than the published range based on the factors mentioned above. This range may be modified in the future.
