About OuterSignal

OuterSignal is a marketing intelligence and personalization platform that helps consumer brands understand their customers better by appending demographic, lifestyle, and behavioral data to customer orders in real-time. We serve hundreds of brands and are growing 50% month-over-month – all within our first 6 months of operation. We're a small, high-performing team building the category-defining platform for e-commerce customer intelligence, backed by a world-class investor base.

The Opportunity

We're looking for a Sales Development Representative to be the engine behind our sales pipeline. This isn't a traditional "smile and dial" SDR role – you'll split your time between qualifying a high volume of inbound leads and running targeted outbound campaigns to high-fit DTC brands. You'll work alongside AI-powered lead routing that flags the right accounts, so your time is spent on conversations that matter, not busywork. Your job: turn interested brands into qualified meetings and find the brands that should be interested but don't know us yet.

What You'll Do

• Qualify inbound leads: Engaged brands get routed to you for qualification. You confirm fit, engage decision-makers, and book demos for our Account Executives – speed matters, and you're expected to respond fast

• Run outbound prospecting: Research and identify high-fit DTC brands on Shopify, build targeted prospect lists, and run multi-channel outreach campaigns (cold calls, email, LinkedIn, creative plays)

• Book qualified meetings: Your primary metric. A qualified meeting means the brand is the right size, a decision-maker was on the call, and the demo actually took place

• Own the pre-demo experience: Manage no-shows and reschedules, prepare pre-call research packets for AEs, and make sure every meeting is set up for success

• Become a product expert: Develop enough fluency in OuterSignal's platform and the eCommerce landscape to articulate value in 30 seconds and earn more time on every call

• Maintain CRM discipline: Manage sequences, keep the CRM clean, and ensure every lead has accurate source attribution

• Build creative outreach plays: Go beyond the standard cold email – think personalized videos, sample enrichment reports, warm intros through partners, and conference networking

What We're Looking For

• 0–2 years of sales or business development experience – SaaS experience is a plus, but hunger and coachability matter more than years on a resume

• Speed and responsiveness: You understand that inbound leads go cold fast. You're the kind of person who responds in minutes, not hours

• Outbound DNA: You're energized by cold outreach, not intimidated by it. You've made cold calls before (or you're ready to start) and you don't take rejection personally

• eCommerce curiosity: You understand (or want to learn) how DTC brands operate – Shopify, Klaviyo, Meta ads, and the tools that power modern e-commerce

• Strong communicator: You can earn 30 more seconds on a call with a skeptical prospect, write emails that get replies, and articulate value concisely

• Self-starter mentality: You thrive in a fast-paced startup environment, manage your own pipeline and activity, and don't wait to be told what to do

• Resilience and grit: You can hear "not interested" 20 times in a day and still bring energy to call 21

• Tech savvy: Comfortable with CRM, AI tools, and a deep commitment (and evidence of) learning new tools quickly

What We Offer

• Impact: Join at the ground floor where your work directly influences company trajectory

• Growth: Clear path from SDR to AE – rapid company growth creates exceptional learning and advancement opportunities

• Flexibility: Remote-first culture with autonomy over your work

• Team: Work alongside the founding team and learn sales from experienced operators

• Mission: Revolutionizing the way brands understand and market to their customers

How to Apply

Submit your resume along with responses to the application questions below. We review applications on a rolling basis and will reach out to qualified candidates for interviews.

OuterSignal is an equal opportunity employer. We celebrate diversity and are committed to creating an inclusive environment for all employees.
