As a team, we’ve launched five satellites into orbit, signed ten commercial deals worth over $1 billion in revenue, raised over $750 million from top global investors, and recruited a team of over 400 world-class engineers. We all work out of our (legendary) San Francisco office, which was once used to build ships during the World Wars.

Our satellites, which operate from geostationary orbit (GEO), weigh only 400 kg and utilize a proprietary software-defined radio payload. Each satellite can connect over two million people, and we’re very excited for the impact we’ll soon have in the Philippines, Peru, Mexico, and more!

Backed by substantial funding and a passionate, collaborative team, we offer a rewarding work environment where you'll learn and make a significant impact, no matter where you are in your career.

Role:
  • Drive new sales and business development across the Energy, Oil & Gas, Mining, Remote IoT, and Industrial sectors.
  • Lead the full sales cycle — prospecting, relationship building, commercial negotiation, and contract closure.
  • Develop and grow relationships with decision-makers at:

Major Mining companies and Heavy Industry players with remote operations
    • Industrial IoT companies and Remote Infrastructure Integrators
    • Public and private sector organizations driving connectivity in unserved or underserved regions
  • Build trusted relationships with Heads of Network Architecture, Operations Directors, IT/OT leaders, and strategic ecosystem partners.
  • Collaborate closely with Astranis’ sales engineering and technical teams to develop compelling proposals and solution architectures.
  • Engage with strategic channel partners and alliances to expand Astranis’ reach within the Energy / Industrial / IoT ecosystem.
  • Represent Astranis at targeted industry events across Energy, Oil & Gas, Mining, Industrial IoT, and Remote Infrastructure sectors.
  • Help shape and refine Astranis’ go-to-market strategies and messaging for the Energy, Oil & Gas, and Remote IoT segment.
Requirements:
  • Degree in Engineering, Business, or a related discipline
7+ years of experience in enterprise sales or business development within Energy, Oil & Gas, Mining, Industrial IoT, or Remote Infrastructure markets
  • Proven track record of successfully closing complex, high-value deals with large enterprise or industrial customers
  • Deep understanding of connectivity challenges in remote and harsh environments, and experience selling communications solutions (satellite, VSAT, private LTE/5G, microwave, fiber) to industrial clients
  • Strong knowledge of Industrial IoT, edge compute architectures, and remote monitoring / SCADA / telemetry needs
  • Experience navigating large, matrixed organizations and driving consensus across technical and executive stakeholders
  • Ability to translate technical value into business outcomes for Operations, IT, and Business leaders in Energy and Industrial markets
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills — comfortable leading conversations with C-level executives
  • High learning agility and entrepreneurial spirit — ability to operate in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
  • Willingness and ability to travel as needed, up to 30% of time
  • Burning desire to close deals and win business on tight timelines
  • U.S. Citizen or Green Card Holder
Bonus:
  • Experience selling connectivity or communications solutions to Energy, Oil & Gas, or Industrial customers
  • Background in satellite connectivity, remote sensing, edge networking, or adjacent industries
  • Familiarity with private networks (LTE / 5G), low-power IoT networks, edge compute platforms, or sovereign connectivity architectures
  • Experience working on public-sector remote connectivity initiatives (e.g., Universal Broadband Fund, Canada’s Indigenous Connectivity programs, or similar)
  • Knowledge of business models for dedicated network infrastructure, CAPEX/OPEX trade-offs, and positioning strategic assets

  • Major Tech Employers: Amazon, Microsoft, Meta, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, cloud computing, software, biotechnology, game development
