About Us

Scotch is building the next-generation operating system for beverage alcohol retailers — combining POS, payments, back office, and e-commerce into a platform purpose-built for liquor stores.

We’re modernizing one of the oldest industries in the world: the $1.6T beverage alcohol market. Our platform helps retailers run more efficiently through streamlined payments, inventory management, reporting, and day-to-day operations.

Our founding team includes leaders from Skupos (acquired in 2023), Drizly (acquired by Uber), and engineering leaders from top technology companies. We’ve raised $28M from VMG, First Round, Lerer Hippeau, Watchfire, and Toba Capital, alongside angels including the founder of Drizly and early executives from Toast. Forbes has recognized Scotch as a leader in the liquor retail technology space.

Position Overview

Scotch is seeking a Sales Director to help liquor stores across the country modernize their operations. You'll be selling a full operating system — hardware, software, payment processing, and e-commerce — to small business owners who are ready to leave outdated technology behind. This is a high-activity, high-reward role at a fast-moving company with real upside.

Key Responsibilities

  • Sell the Scotch POS and operating system to liquor store owners across the US
  • Own a mix of inbound and outbound activity, calling on stores five days a week
  • Serve as the trusted technology expert for your buyers — small business owners — helping them understand how Scotch saves time and grows profit
  • Collaborate with the onboarding and support team post-close to ensure smooth merchant transitions, stepping in as needed on your own deals

Qualifications & Skills

  • Proven sales experience in SMB technology or the beverage alcohol industry
  • Confidence selling to and communicating with small business owners
  • Self-starter mentality with a track record of hitting and exceeding targets
  • Comfort in an autonomous, performance-driven environment
  • Genuine enthusiasm for technology and modern sales enablement tools
  • Experience working in the retail liquor or broader BevAlc space

Nice to Haves

  • Existing relationships in the retail liquor or broader BevAlc space
  • Experience selling hardware + software bundles or multi-product platforms
  • Familiarity with POS, payments, or e-commerce solutions

Compensation & Benefits

  • $150,000 OTE ($100k base + $50k uncapped commission)
  • Competitive equity package
  • Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision coverage — 75% premium covered for employees
  • Company-sponsored 401(k)
  • Unlimited flexible PTO — we actively encourage you to use it

Why Scotch?

  • Be part of something early: Join a category-defining company with real momentum and room to shape how we go to market
  • Sell a product people need: Liquor store owners have been underserved by technology for decades — you're bringing them something genuinely better
  • Grow with the company: As Scotch scales, so do the opportunities — in comp, scope, and responsibility
  • Win with a great team: Low ego, high output, no assholes — a culture built to attract and keep top performers

Scotch is an equal opportunity employer. We value diverse perspectives and are committed to creating an inclusive environment for all employees.
