Role Overview

Optimal Dynamics is seeking a skilled and passionate Sales Engineer to help drive our technical sales efforts and deliver tailored solutions to Asset-Based Carriers and Shippers. This role is pivotal in supporting new business growth and expanding relationships with existing accounts by combining technical expertise, consultative selling, and deep industry insight.

The ideal candidate will bring a strong background in pre-sales or technical consulting, particularly within the logistics and transportation space. You should be comfortable working with fleet operators and capable of translating complex technical solutions into clear, compelling business value.

Experience in logistics/trucking network optimization is required.

Key Responsibilities
  • Articulate Value: Clearly communicate the benefits of Optimal Dynamics' technical solutions in business terms relevant to prospective and current Carriers and Shipper Fleet Operators.
  • Solution Design: Deliver tailored, comprehensive solutions using whiteboarding sessions, proofs of value, and presentations.
  • Collaborate with Sales: Partner closely with the sales team to support new sales efforts and identify opportunities for account expansion.
  • Market Expertise: Maintain a deep understanding of  Transportation Operations and Optimization, including key trends, industry processes, and business use cases.
  • Technical Integration: Leverage knowledge of SaaS application integration, APIs, and pre-sales best practices to support customer onboarding and adoption.
  • Customer Insights: Gather and relay customer network characteristics, goals and objectives  to product and engineering teams.
  • Customized Demonstrations: Execute personalized product demos that align with the a prospective customer’s specific needs and challenges.
  • ROI Analysis: Run Value Assessments with prospective customers to produce detailed ROI presentations tailored to their unique operations.
  • Technical Documentation: Work with the implementation team to develop technical design documents that capture project requirements and ensure successful deployment.
  • RFP Support: Respond to RFPs, RFIs, and Information Security questionnaires with clear and precise documentation.
  • Discovery Workshops: Facilitate in-depth discovery workshops with customers to identify needs and refine solutions.
Qualifications
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Business Management, Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics (STEM), or a related field.
  • Experience:
    • 5+ years professional, hands-on product / Pre-Sales engineering experience interacting with complex solutions with emphasis on full stack solutions.
    • Direct experience with Transportation and Logistics applications is required.
    • Proven ability to manage complex technical sales cycles with enterprise clients.
  • Technical Knowledge:
    • Proficiency in Python 3.
    • Practical experience with Django.
    • Hands-on experience with major cloud platforms such as AWS, GCP, or Azure.
    • Proficiency in relational databases, including Postgres, MySQL, SQL Server, or similar technologies.
  • Soft Skills:
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills to convey technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
    • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues during proofs of value and pilots.

Pay Range
$150,000$190,000 USD
