Founded by former National Security Agency (NSA) cyber operations experts who applied their learnings to bring national security-grade technology solutions to commercial customers around the world, Blackpoint Cyber is in hyper-growth mode,  fueled by a recent $190m series C round.

Why Blackpoint?

At Blackpoint, we don’t just respond to cyber threats—we stop them before they even have a chance. As a Sales Engineer, you'll play a key role in this mission, working directly with clients and partners to demonstrate how our innovative cybersecurity solutions can elevate their defenses. This is more than just a sales role—it’s about helping organizations proactively stay ahead of increasingly sophisticated cyber adversaries. By joining Blackpoint, you’ll have the opportunity to make a tangible impact on how businesses protect themselves against evolving threats. We foster a collaborative, forward-thinking environment where your expertise will be valued, and your contributions will help shape the future of cybersecurity.
While this role is fully remote, we are hiring candidates located in the PST or MST time zones.
What You’ll Do:

  • Serve as the subject matter expert (SME) in detection and response, clearly articulating the unique value Blackpoint offers in comparison to other cybersecurity solutions.

  • Work closely with Sales, Marketing, Engineering, and Support teams to bridge the technical gap between Blackpoint and its customers, ensuring seamless collaboration.

  • Conduct tailored demos and proof-of-concept trials, effectively translating complex technical concepts into clear, digestible presentations for diverse audiences.

  • Oversee and manage end-to-end evaluations, guiding prospects through hands-on experience to demonstrate Blackpoint's ability to address their specific security needs.

  • Utilize your deep understanding of cybersecurity technologies and frameworks (NIST, CIS, CMMC, HIPAA, PCI-DSS) to support customers in meeting their security and compliance goals.

  • Provide valuable insights to engineering teams, helping to refine and align our offerings with customer feedback.

What You’ll Bring:

  • 4-6 years of experience in Sales Engineering, Pre-Sales, or other client-facing technical roles with a focus on cybersecurity solutions.

  • Experience and knowledge in cybersecurity technologies such as endpoint security (EDR, Antivirus, IDS/IPS, Firewalls), networking (IP Addressing, DNS, DHCP), and Windows domain administration.

  • Strong familiarity with security frameworks and compliance standards (NIST, CIS, CMMC, HIPAA, PCI-DSS).

  • Experience with SaaS solutions and Managed Service Providers (MSP), particularly in the context of cybersecurity.

  • Scripting and automation knowledge to support efficient sales and deployment processes.

  • Excellent presentation, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

  • Strong time management and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple customer engagements independently.
    Travel Details:

  • This role requires occasional travel (approximately 30% of the year) to meet with clients, partners, and prospects, as well as to attend industry events and trade shows.

Blackpoint Cyber welcomes and encourages applications from qualified individuals of all races,  colors, religions, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, national origin, age, marital  status, or any other legally protected status. We are committed to equality of opportunity in all  aspects of employment.  For eligible employees in the US, Blackpoint offers competitive Health, Vision, Dental, and Life Insurance plans, a robust 401k plan, Discretionary Time Off, and other minor perks.

And its status as a thriving tech ecosystem is attracting out-of-town companies looking to establish new tech and engineering hubs.

Key Facts About Seattle Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 287,000; 13% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Amazon, Microsoft, Meta, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, cloud computing, software, biotechnology, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $3.1 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
