Key Responsibilities
You will identify and qualify opportunities, shape and execute opportunity capture plans, manage key accounts and stakeholders, and coordinate the internal matrix organization to deliver winning, compliant and profitable offers.
Commercial Strategy & Market Development
Identify and prioritize opportunities for new equipment, modernization, and service business across utilities, IPPs, EPCs, and public authorities through development of necessary capture plans
Monitor market trends, regulatory developments, funding programs (EU Green Deal, national subsidies), and competitive activity.
Participate in the preparation of commercial offers (technical, commercial, contractual) in close collaboration with Commercial operations, Technical Tendering teams, Project management, finance, legal and risk functions.
Negotiate contracts and commercial terms with customers and partners, ensuring alignment with GE Vernova policies and risk appetite.
Achieve or exceed annual orders, margin and profitability targets for the assigned geography and portfolio.
Ensure accurate and timely forecasting of orders, pipeline and key metrics using GE Vernova tools and processes.
Customer & Stakeholder Engagement
Act as primary point of contact for designated key accounts in the CEE region (utilities, large industrial customers, EPCs, developers).
Build and maintain strong, trust-based relationships with:
Decision-makers and influencers at all levels (C suite, technical, procurement, project teams).
Local partners, consultants, and industry stakeholders.
Develop and execute account plans to grow share of wallet, position GE Vernova as a preferred partner, and support long-term customer satisfaction.
Represent GE Vernova Hydro at industry events, conferences and customer meetings to promote the portfolio and thought leadership.
Internal Collaboration & Governance
Work in close coordination with the regional and global Hydro teams (engineering, sourcing, project management, service, finance).
Ensure adherence to GE Vernova’s EHS policies, commercial, legal and compliance throughout the sales cycle.
Provide structured feedback to product line, engineering and marketing on customer needs, competitive positioning and market requirements.
Contribute to continuous improvement of sales tools, processes and best practices within the Hydro organization
Sales Execution & Forecasting
Ensure accurate pipeline management, sales forecasting, and opportunity qualification (e.g., via SFDC).
Drive disciplined deal reviews, risk assessments, pricing strategy, and commercial approvals.
Track and report performance against order intake, margin, and hit-rate targets.
Qualifications
Required
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Energy or related), Business, or equivalent experience.
Significant experience in B2B sales or business development in the energy, power generation or infrastructure sector; experience in hydropower or large capital projects strongly preferred.
Demonstrated track record of winning large, complex tenders/projects (EPC, equipment supply, modernization/refurbishment) with utilities or similar customers.
Proven experience in key account management and long-cycle, consultative selling.
Excellent communication and negotiation skills in English and German.
Ability and willingness to travel 50% of the time, as required.
Experience effectively working in and managing a matrix environment and across different cultures
Preferred
Solid understanding of hydropower plants (turbines, generators, control systems, balance of plant), or strong willingness and ability to learn quickly.
Strong commercial acumen: pricing, contract structures, risk management, financing instruments and tender processes (public and private).
Experience with international contracts and typical contract forms used in large infrastructure projects (e.g. EPC, FIDIC) is an asset.
Ability to navigate complex stakeholder landscapes and work within a matrix organization.
Additional European language skills (French, Italian, Spanish, etc.).
Familiarity with CRM systems (Salesforce), bid management tools, or commercial governance processes.

For this position we offer an annual gross salary of at least EUR 70, 000 with the willingness to overpay depending on professional experience and qualifications.
