AeroTEC - Aerospace Testing Engineering & Certification Inc.
SALES OPERATIONS ANALYST
AeroTEC is an aerospace engineering company providing a wide array of high-end services and turnkey solutions ranging from aircraft level analysis and design engineering, all the way to prototype flight testing and complete airworthiness certification. Our highly experienced aerospace engineering, testing, and program management teams work closely with customers to address their unique needs in a safe and cost-effective manner, utilizing proven in-house development methodologies and tools.
About the Role
AeroTEC's Sales & Business Development team manages complex proposals, active customer relationships, and a growing pipeline across multiple market segments. As Sales Operations Analyst, you will be the organizational and analytical engine that keeps it all running (and running better over time).
This is a role for someone who is energized by organizing systems, surfacing insights from data, and making a high-performing team more effective. You will manage the processes, tools, and infrastructure that allow AeroTEC's BD team to focus on customers and close business. Your work directly impacts how AeroTEC makes strategic decisions by compiling competitive intelligence, conducting win/loss analysis, and tracking market changes.
For the right person, this role is a genuine launching pad. The visibility into customers, programs, and BD strategy that comes with this position creates a natural path toward customer-facing or strategy roles over time. We are looking for someone who wants to grow with us.
What You'll Do
Proposal & Pursuit Support
-
Manage proposal schedules, submission deadlines, and internal review milestones, ensuring nothing falls through the cracks on active pursuits.
-
Coordinate proposal team logistics: scheduling kick-offs and reviews, tracking action items, and following up with contributors across engineering, operations, and leadership.
-
Maintain and organize proposal content libraries, templates, and boilerplate while keeping materials current and easy to find.
-
Support document production: formatting, version control, and final assembly of proposals, presentations, and customer deliverables.
-
Track and document lessons learned from wins and losses; help integrate findings into future proposal strategy and process.
Pipeline & CRM Management
-
Facilitate the accuracy and hygiene of AeroTEC's sales pipeline, ensuring opportunities are up to date, stages are correctly reflected, and data is reliable.
-
Build and maintain dashboards, reports, and scorecards that give leadership clear visibility into pipeline health, win rates, proposal volume, and BD activity.
-
Generate regular and ad hoc reporting on sales metrics and KPIs, translating data into clean, accessible formats for internal audiences.
-
Partner with BD leads to ensure pipeline entries, activity logs, and opportunity notes are consistently maintained.
Competitive Intelligence & Market Analysis
-
Support ongoing tracking of market activity, competitor positioning, and emerging opportunities across AeroTEC's core segments.
-
Contribute to win/loss analysis, identifying patterns across pursuit outcomes and translating them into actionable recommendations for the BD team.
-
Research new entrants, program announcements, and regulatory developments relevant to AeroTEC's addressable market; synthesize findings into digestible summaries for leadership.
-
Help maintain a living view of the competitive landscape that informs how AeroTEC positions and prices its services.
Process & Operations
-
Identify bottlenecks in the sales and proposal process and proactively recommend improvements.
-
Develop, document, and maintain standard operating procedures for recurring BD activities from opportunity qualification to proposal submission.
-
Manage templates for proposals, SOWs, NDAs, teaming agreements, and other frequently used sales documents — keeping them current with company standards.
-
Support onboarding of new BD team members by maintaining clear process documentation and tool guides.
-
Handle administrative coordination across the team: meeting scheduling, internal communications, and expense tracking as needed.
The Skills You Will Bring (Minimum):
Education
- Four (4) year degree in Engineering, or Business Administration, or equivalent industry experience in project administration.
Experience
-
3–6 years of experience in sales operations, proposal coordination, business development support, or a similar analytical/operational role ideally in an engineering services, aerospace, defense, or technical professional services environment.
-
Strong analytical instincts: you are comfortable working with data, spotting patterns, and turning numbers into clear narratives.
-
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel: pivot tables, dashboards, structured trackers, and reporting tools are part of your regular workflow.
-
Experience with proposal or document management processes: version control, template management, and deadline-driven coordination.
-
Excellent written communication skills; able to produce clean, professional documents and synthesize information clearly for different audiences.
-
Proactive and self-directed: you notice what needs doing and do it without waiting to be asked, and you look for ways to make things work better.
-
High attention to detail with a track record of work that is accurate, polished, and reliable.
-
Collaborative and adaptable: you work well across teams, communicate clearly under pressure, and build trust through consistency.
Bonus Points
-
Familiarity with CRM platforms and pipeline management tools (any platform is acceptable; curiosity and willingness to learn matter more than specific tool experience).
-
Exposure to competitive intelligence, market research, or strategic analysis work.
-
Experience building or improving sales operations processes from scratch.
-
Background in project management; formal training or certification (PMP, CAPM) a plus.
-
Exposure to government contracting, ITAR-controlled environments, or defense acquisition processes.
