Job Description

Summary

The Sales Operations Specialist I will be responsible for ensuring that sales-related activities
are executed efficiently and effectively.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Supporting the sales team in achieving their goals by managing and coordinating aspects of the sales process.
  • Managing the sales pipeline and ensuring that all opportunities are tracked and followed up on in a timely manner.
  • Coordinating sales meetings and conference calls, preparing sales presentations, and providing administrative support to the sales team.
  • Conducting research on potential clients and competitors, and providing insights to the sales team to help them develop effective sales strategies.
  • Providing excellent customer service to internal and external stakeholders and responding to their inquiries in a timely and professional manner.
  • Managing the sales database and ensuring that all data is accurate and up-to-date so that sales reports and dashboards track performance accurately. 
  • Assisting sales and marketing with sales presentations and materials preparation.
  • Developing and maintaining a filing system for managing sales databases and updating sales records.
  • Collaborating with marketing, proposals, and finance teams on sales-related tasks.

This is an internal and external client facing position that requires excellent customer service skills and interpersonal communication skills (listening/verbal/written).  One must be able to; manage difficult or emotional client situations; Respond promptly to client needs; Solicit client feedback to improve service; Respond to requests for service and assistance from clients; Meet commitments to clients.

Education and/or Experience

BS/BA and 3+ years’ experience or equivalent combination of education and experience

Computer Skills

Proficiency in MS Office / Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint. Experience with Salesforce.com or other CRM software a plus.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

None required.

Work Location

This position works on-site at the San Diego Headquarters or other company location (or from a remote location with management approval based on business requirements). Must provide adequate support to internal clients; be available for regular interactions and coordination of work with other employees, colleagues, clients, or vendors; as well as be available to facilitate effective decisions through collaboration with stakeholders.

Working Hours

This is a full-time non-exempt position requiring one to be able to work overtime from time to time in order to get the job done.  Therefore, one must have the ability to work nights, weekends or on holidays as required.  This may be changed at any time to meet the needs of the business.  The typical working hours for this position are Monday through Friday from 8:00am to 5:00pm.

This position requires no travel however attendance maybe required at various local conferences and meetings.
