Position Summary

Effectual Salesforce Developers are members of the Public Sector Program Management team responsible for ensuring that customer-facing projects are delivered with exceptional customer satisfaction and technical excellence. Effectual Salesforce Developers are “Brand Ambassadors” and are expected to stay current on leading practices to deliver high-quality, well-conceived solutions to customers. The ideal candidate has over a decade of hands-on experience developing on the Salesforce platform and working within the federal government contracting space on a new 5-year contract. This position includes responsibilities related to system development, DevOps practices, platform maintenance, and production support.

A Glimpse into the Daily Routine of a Salesforce Developer

We are looking for a highly skilled Salesforce Developer to join our team to design, build, and deploy robust, secure, and scalable solutions for public sector applications. Engage varied stakeholders to translate complex business requirements into scalable, secure Salesforce solutions. Work collaboratively with internal teams, external partners, and cloud service providers, including Salesforce and AWS, to deliver secure, compliant, and innovative solutions. The Salesforce Developer reviews sprint priorities and assesses technical progress on current user stories. Work closely with stakeholders to clarify requirements and deliver solutions using Apex, Lightning Flows, and other declarative tools. Split time between hands-on development, debugging, sandbox maintenance, and release planning. Frequently collaborate with DevOps, QA, and security teams to ensure compliance, stability, and readiness for production deployment. Document and align processes with federal agency standards that are part of the routine delivery lifecycle.

Responsibilities

· Develop customized solutions within the Salesforce platform using Apex classes, triggers, Lightning Flows, Visualforce, and custom REST integrations

· Create and manage custom objects, record types, workflows, validation rules, page layouts, and process automation

· Perform ongoing system administration tasks including user setup, role hierarchy management, profiles, permission sets, and metadata backup

· Gather and refine technical requirements directly from stakeholders and translate them into secure, scalable Salesforce solutions

· Collaborate with project managers, architects, and DevOps teams to ensure code is version-controlled, tested, and deployed through sandbox environments into production

· Support and manage sandbox refresh cycles, testing environments, and production deployment readiness

· Maintain accurate and up-to-date technical documentation: design specs, process flows, smoke test scripts, deployment logs and release notes for stakeholder review and compliance

· Identify and troubleshoot performance issues and defects in custom code, integrations, and automation workflows

· Contribute to DevOps functions including deployment scripting, change set creation, and CI/CD automation support when needed

Qualifications

· Minimum Education: Bachelor's degree in related discipline AND

· Minimum Experience: 10 years including cloud professional certification OR

· Substitution/Alternative to Minimum Education and Experience: Must have at least 10 years of on-the-job experience

· Must be a US Citizen

· 10+ years of Salesforce development experience with public sector or federal programs

· Deep technical knowledge of the Salesforce platform, combined with the ability to understand government-specific needs and compliance requirements

· Salesforce Platform Developer I, Salesforce Platform Developer II, or Salesforce Platform App Builder, and/or AWS Certified Developer Associate, AWS Certified Solutions Architect and/or other relevant Salesforce and/or cloud certifications

· Advanced knowledge of Apex programming, Lightning Web Components, Flows, SOQL, SOSL, and platform APIs

· Experienced in declarative configuration and system architecture in complex Salesforce orgs

· Develop customized solutions within Salesforce platform using Apex, Flows, and other technologies

· Create and manage custom objects, workflows, validation rules, and process builders

· Handle system maintenance: user setup, roles, permissions, and metadata backups

· Collaborate with varied stakeholders to gather key requirements and develop to their standards

· Manage sandbox environments and support production deployment post testing

· Create and maintain process and system documentation for the stakeholder

· Experience in DevOps-aligned delivery environments including metadata version control and structured release management

· Proven experience managing Salesforce and cloud integration projects with a focus on solution engineering, data security, and compliance

· Attention to detail and strong organizational skills

· Continuous learning mindset, keeping up to date with industry trends and best practices

· Ability to work Eastern Standard Time Zone schedule

Nice-to-Have Skills and Experience

· Active Clearance or Public Trust (DOJ Preferred)

· Salesforce certifications including Salesforce Application Architect, System Architect, or Salesforce DevOps Center or Copado Certification

· Experience implementing DevOps practices in Salesforce, including CI/CD pipelines, Git-based metadata tracking, test automation, and release coordination

· Experience with DevOps tools such as Copado, Gearset, AutoRABIT, or Salesforce DevOps Center

· Knowledge of API integration and middleware platforms such as MuleSoft or Boomi

· Experience supporting Salesforce Government Cloud (FedRAMP), including Authority to Operate (ATO) requirements and data handling standards

· Ability to troubleshoot across development and deployment layers including code validation, static code analysis, and performance profiling

· Experience working with secure, regulated data in accordance with federal compliance frameworks such as FISMA and NIST 800-53.
