The Senior Accountant will play a key role in maintaining financial accuracy, ensuring compliance with GAAP, and streamlining processes across departments.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee general ledger accounting, including preparing journal entries, performing reconciliations, and conducting variance analysis.
- Manage the monthly and annual financial close procedures, ensuring all transactions are recorded accurately and in compliance with established deadlines.
- Review and analyze financial statements to ensure they are accurate, complete, and compliant with GAAP and company policies.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting.
- Assist in preparing audit schedules and provide necessary documentation to auditors, ensuring a smooth and efficient audit process.
- Continuously improve accounting processes and procedures to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and compliance.
- Manage and optimize accounting systems and workflows, including assisting in projects related to system implementations and upgrades.
- Ensure adherence to internal controls and other regulatory standards.
- Provide mentorship and training to staff accountants and offshore teams, including managing and coordinating tasks for the offshore team in India, fostering growth and development.
- Develop and improve accounting policies, procedures, and best practices, ensuring consistent quality and compliance.
Qualifications and Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting preferred. CPA certification preferred but not required.
- 5+ years of experience in accounting, preferably in a SaaS and technology environment.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting principles.
- Experience with ERP systems such as Sage Intacct.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
