Job Description:
As a Senior Accountant at Easy Street Capital, you will convert detailed loan-level data from multiple sources into timely, GAAP-compliant financial statements. We are looking for a highly organized and driven individual to join our Accounting Team at the premier private lender in Texas. You’ll get to work at a fun, fast-paced, and growing company in one of our vibrant downtown offices, or as a remote worker.
Responsibilities will be focused on financial reporting, while also providing cross-functional support to operational teams and seeking to proactively add value to the Easy Street Capital debt platform.
Responsibilities
- Be an essential part of our month-end close process by recording journal entries, preparing account reconciliations, conducting flux analyses, and ensuring close is timely
- Be a key player in developing process improvements to streamline close and build scalable solutions to support the growth of Easy Street Capital
- Majorly contribute to external audits and ensure compliance with internal controls
- Compile support for various tax filings and own assigned regulatory reporting tasks
- Assist in researching technical accounting matters
- Prepare ad hoc financial analysis and reporting in support of Leadership
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s in Accounting required; CPA (active) preferred; Master’s is a nice to have
- 5+ years of accounting experience required; prior loan accounting experience would be great; prior experience accounting for FinTechs, securitization trusts, and/or working in dynamic start up and/or high growth company environments is a plus
- Proficiency in Excel is required (there is a test); experience with BI tools is preferred; basic understanding of SQL, middleware applications, and/or data science in general is a nice to have
- Prior experience working with Quickbooks is strongly preferred
- Previous technical accounting experience in the following areas is a plus: revenue recognition (ASC 606), servicing and transfers (ASC 860), consolidations (ASC 810), FVO (ASC 825), and/or equity and equity-linked financial instruments (ASC 480)
