About the Role:

Synergy Business Innovation & Solutions, Inc. is seeking a highly qualified Senior Appian Administrator to support the United States Coast Guard (USCG). This role will serve as the lead administrator for enterprise Appian environments and will be responsible for platform administration, application lifecycle management, deployment strategy, environment governance, performance monitoring, security compliance, and operational support.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the lead administrator for enterprise Appian environments supporting multiple applications and business teams.
  • Administer, maintain, monitor, and optimize Appian platform environments, including user management, security configurations, integrations, and platform health monitoring.
  • Lead deployment and release management activities for multiple Appian applications across development, QA, staging, and production environments.
  • Manage Appian ALM processes, deployment packages, release schedules, and rollback strategies.
  • Develop and implement deployment standards, operational procedures, and platform governance processes.
  • Plan and execute platform upgrades, hotfixes, patch management, and environment refresh activities.
  • Monitor platform performance, capacity utilization, and application availability.
  • Troubleshoot complex Appian platform, application, integration, infrastructure, and performance issues.
  • Collaborate with development teams for production releases and environment readiness.
  • Implement and maintain security controls and support audits, vulnerability remediation, and ATO activities.
  • Support CI/CD pipelines and deployment automation processes.
  • Provide mentorship and technical guidance to Appian developers and administrators.

Required Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of Appian platform administration experience in enterprise environments.
  • Experience administering and supporting multiple Appian environments and applications.
  • Demonstrated experience leading Appian deployments and release management across multiple environments.
  • Strong experience with Appian Application Lifecycle Management (ALM).
  • Experience performing Appian platform upgrades, hotfix installations, and troubleshooting.
  • Experience supporting production systems with high availability requirements.
  • Strong knowledge of Appian architecture, administration, security, and performance optimization.
  • Experience with Git and CI/CD processes.
  • Working knowledge of Linux and/or Windows server administration.
  • Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and root cause analysis skills.
  • Experience creating technical and operational documentation.
  • Working knowledge of Agile methodologies and SDLC practices.
  • Experience using AI-assisted administration or operational support tools.

Preferred Qualifications:

  •  Appian Certified Senior System Administrator, Appian Certified Lead Developer, or equivalent certification.
  • Appian development experience including process models, interfaces, records, integrations, and data structures.
  • Experience supporting AWS, AWS GovCloud, or AWS IL2-hosted Appian environments.
  • Experience with Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD, Azure DevOps, or similar tools.
  • Experience implementing Infrastructure as Code.
  • Experience supporting federal government environments.
  • Experience supporting vulnerability remediation, compliance initiatives, and ATO efforts.
  • Experience with CloudWatch, Splunk, Grafana, Dynatrace, or similar monitoring tools.
  • Experience mentoring junior administrators and leading operations activities.

Education Requirements:

  • Required: Required: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related technical field.

Citizenship & Clearance Requirements:

  • Required: Required: U.S. Citizen with Public Trust eligibility or ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance.

Target Salary Range

Compensation for roles at Synergy is determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to, the requirements of the role; level of experience; education and certifications; the individual’s combination of knowledge, skills, and abilities; as well as alignment with market data, federal and state laws, and other business and contract considerations. The estimated pay range for this position is: $100,000.00 – $120,000.00. The disclosed range has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled. It is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role, and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case and represent just one component of Synergy’s total compensation package for employees.
