POSITION SUMMARY:
The Senior Associate, Annual Fund is responsible for driving flexible revenue for BMCHS by managing a portfolio of 250-350 donors and prospects, with a focus on gifts up to $25,000. This role involves acquiring new donors from BMC's grateful patient population, upgrading them to leadership-level supporters (Exceptional Neighbor Circle), and building a pipeline for major future gifts. The Senior Associate supports the Associate Director in executing fundraising campaigns, including direct mail and electronic efforts, and engages donors through various channels to secure significant unrestricted support. Additionally, the role involves tracking budget information, identifying new prospects, and ensuring effective donor stewardship and acknowledgment processes.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES / DUTIES:
- Support Associate Director, Annual Fund to develop direct mail, electronic and social media fundraising campaigns to acquire, retain, and upgrade BMC Fund donors.
- Drive flexible revenue for BMCHS by soliciting and stewarding prospects making gifts up to $25,000 with a primary focus on donors making gifts from BMC’s emerging grateful patient population. Achieve a minimum six-figure goal of unrestricted revenue for BMCHS to be determined on an annual basis.
- Maintain a portfolio of 250-350 existing donors and grateful patient prospects with them through in-person and video meetings, phone calls and written correspondence. The Senior Associate, Annual Fund will focus on acquiring new grateful patient donors and upgrading donor prospects to the Exceptional Neighbor Circle, BMC’s leadership annual giving society, creating a robust, long-term pipeline for future major gift portfolios
- Identify and convert special event donors (Team BMC, marathon), a population historically known for one-time gifts, into multi-year BMC Fund donors to build the MG/IG donor pipeline
- Manage the gift acknowledgment process for the annual fund team
- Engage and steward Exceptional Neighbor Circle members (BMC’s leadership giving society), first time donors, and loyal donors to retain annual fund donors and revenue; encouraging donors to increase their annual support of BMC
- Manage and maintain Raiser’s Edge, NXT, ensuring accurate and up-to-date records of donor interactions, gift histories, and engagement strategies to support effective relationship management and fundraising efforts
- Advise and coordinate direct mail efforts for Gift Planning and how it intersects with annual fund outreach (curating prospect lists, assisting in content creation, etc.), and aid in other Gift Planning efforts related to Annual Fund overlap as needed
- Assist in development and management of annual giving society benefits to retain and upgrade existing BMC donors
- Analyze daily gift reports to identify prospects eligible to move through the donor pipeline for increased engagement from the MG/IG
- Manage stewardship opportunities for Grateful Patient donors (thank-a-thons for providers, thank you notes from patients to providers, etc.)
- Research annual fund prospects for portfolio placement, in consultation with Associate Director, Annual Fund and Director of Research to maximize giving potential for each unique donor
- Track and monitor Annual Fund and Gift Planning budgets
- Develop and manage strategies to engage a new generation of donors, creating new sources of consistent unrestricted revenue through specific programming and tailored solicitations
- Partnering with the events and donor engagement teams, conduct multiple annual fund events throughout the year focusing on donor acquisition and stewardship to further engage annual fund donors in efforts to upgrade these donors through the donor pipeline
- Participate in annual/quarterly goal setting, with eye towards year-over-year revenue growth in unrestricted funding for BMCHS
- Manage annual BMCHS employee giving and stewardship campaigns through payroll deduction and other methods to help build culture of philanthropy across BMCHS
- Provide additional support to MG/IG team members as needed
- Performs other duties as assigned or as necessary.

JOB REQUIREMENTS
EDUCATION:
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent combination of education and development work experience required.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS REQUIRED:
- None required
EXPERIENCE:
- A minimum of 4 to 5 years of experience is required.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES (KSAs):
- Knowledge of annual giving best practices; preferably in a healthcare setting
- Experience working in donor databases
- Strong professional demeanor
- Sales or prospect management experience preferred
- Excellent written and verbal communication, quality control, and organizational skills
