SafetyChain Software is looking for a Senior Business Development Representative (BDR) to join our Sales team.This is a senior/tenured position within our BDR team. In addition to core pipeline generation, this person will take on an informal team lead role,  surfacing team progress and blockers to the BDR Manager, helping keep the broader team aligned, while still carrying a full individual quota.

We are a remote-first company. While this role is primarily remote, there may be occasional opportunities to collaborate in person for quarterly business reviews, team training, or customer visits. This is completely optional and flexible based on your location and preferences.

Key Responsibilities: 

The Senior Business Development Representative (BDR) will play a critical role in moving prospective buyers through the sales funnel. You will engage with inbound leads—primarily Marketing Qualified Leads (MQLs)—as well as manage recycled leads and re-engagement opportunities. Your focus will be to qualify prospects, nurture early interest, and set high-quality appointments for our Account Executives.

Team Lead Support: act as a point of contact between the BDR team and BDR Manager, surfacing activity trends, blockers, and wins Mentorship: help onboard and coach newer BDRs on process, tools, and best practices

Performance Expectations

  • Activity Targets: Approximately 40–50 outreach activities (calls, emails, LinkedIn touches) per day.
  • SQL Goal: Aim to generate 12–16 qualified sales opportunities per month.
  • Speed-to-Lead: Initial outreach to inbound leads within 24 hours.
  • We’ll provide the tools, training, and support to help you hit these numbers confidently.

Qualifications:

  • Have 2+ years of BDR/SDR or equivalent sales development experience, with a demonstrated track record of hitting or exceeding quota, preferably within the B2B/Saas or enterprise software industry.
  • Comfortable taking on informal leadership responsibilities — communicating team progress to management and supporting teammates without formal authority.
  • Willing to experiment with new tools and approaches to find what generates pipeline.
  • Comfortable experimenting with AI tools to improve outreach quality and efficiency 
  • Have strong organizational and time management skills—you can keep moving even when managing a high volume of leads.
  • Are a self-starter who’s motivated to succeed in sales and open to feedback along the way.
  • Communicate clearly, listen actively, and can build rapport with all kinds of people.
  • Are comfortable learning and using tools like Sales Navigator, HubSpot, and other tools.
  • Are a natural problem solver who stays proactive and focuses on results.
  • Are eager to learn, grow, multi-task, and take on new challenges. We invest in our people.
  • Experience informally leading, mentoring, or supporting peers is a plus. 

Growth Path: This role is designed as a stepping stone. High performers can expect a path into a full-time BDR Manager or Account Executive role within 12-18 months.
