Sample BI Architect - Key Responsibilities
Executive Reporting & Storytelling
- Design and deliver high-visibility executive dashboards for C-suite and senior leadership audiences
- Translate ambiguous business questions into clear KPIs, metrics, and visual narratives
- Ensure reports are concise, intuitive, and decision-oriented
- Proactively surface trends, risks, and opportunities relevant to leadership priorities
BI Architecture & Semantic Modeling
- Architect enterprise-grade Power BI semantic models that support consistent metrics across reports
- Define and enforce metric definitions, calculation logic, and dimensional standards
- Optimize data models for performance, scalability, and reusability
- Establish best practices for DAX, model relationships, aggregations, and row-level security
Data Integration & Engineering Collaboration
- Integrate data from multiple sources (e.g., ERP, CRM, finance, operations, cloud platforms, flat files, APIs)
- Partner with data engineering teams to improve data quality, reliability, and availability
- Help define upstream data structures to better support downstream analytics and executive use cases
Governance, Quality & Trust
- Ensure executive reporting is accurate, auditable, and trusted
- Implement governance around datasets, workspaces, access, and certification in Power BI
- Balance agility with control in a fast-moving executive reporting environment
Leadership & Influence
- Act as a thought leader for analytics best practices across the organization
- Mentor analysts and BI developers on modeling, visualization, and storytelling
- Influence stakeholders without formal authority through clarity, credibility, and results
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in business intelligence, analytics, or data architecture roles
- Deep, hands-on expertise with Power BI (semantic models, DAX, Power Query, service architecture)
- Proven experience delivering executive-level dashboards and reporting
- Strong data modeling skills (star schema Power BI semantic models)
- Experience working with multiple enterprise data sources
- Ability to communicate complex data concepts clearly to non-technical audiences
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting C-suite, board, or VP-level reporting
- Background in enterprise analytics environments with shared semantic models
- Familiarity with Azure data services (e.g., Snowflake, Fabric, Data Factory) or similar cloud platforms
- Experience defining BI standards, governance models, and reporting frameworks

- Metrics are consistent across the organization, with minimal debate over definitions
- Power BI models are performant, scalable, and reusable
- Stakeholders come to you not just for reports, but for insight and perspective

For candidates applying to a U.S. based position, the pay range for this position is between $114,100.00 and $190,200.00. The Company pays a geographic differential of 110%, 120% or 130% of salary in certain areas. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate’s experience, education, and skill set.
