Company:

The Boeing Company

The Boeing Company is seeking a Senior Business & Systems Architect, Source to Pay (Virtual) with deep domain expertise in the Source-to-Pay (S2P) value stream to lead enterprise-level procurement and payables transformations. This position will influence technology architecture and design decisions that support solutions used in the Enterprise Services division. Enterprise Services consists of Indirect Supply Chain, Executive Flight Operations, and Global Real Estate & Facilities. You will partner closely with all aspects of the organization's executive and senior management teams within Enterprise Services.

As Boeing continues to grow, and our function works to be an enabler to business success, we are building teams and leaders with growth mindsets to anticipate & grow to meet the needs of the company at large.

In this role you will operate at the intersection of business strategy/needs and complex technology landscapes. As a trusted advisor you will define target-state S2P architectures, translate procurement strategy into pragmatic solutions, and support delivery across intake, sourcing, contract lifecycle, procurement lifecycle, supplier management, invoicing and payments.  This is an individual contributor role that will enable teams to translate business requirements into scalable, maintainable, and secure technical designs, identify solutions, and partner with stakeholders for successful delivery and adoption.

This role requires strong stakeholder management with procurement, finance, legal and IT, plus hands-on knowledge of procurement platforms, ERP integrations, and automation approaches.

You will use your influence and leadership to engage and coordinate with teams located across the global portfolio with support to numerous sites in multiple countries, provinces, and cities. This role requires a blend of technical expertise, strategic thinking, and strong interpersonal skills. It will require infrequent travel to visit stakeholders at other sites as business needs require.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Act as the primary architect and senior consultant for S2P transformations that are led by multiple portfolio managers and solution owners

    • Governance: standards, design reviews, architecture decision records

    • Identify, quantify, and manage architectural risks; propose mitigation strategies and trade-off recommendations

  • Define the end-to-end solution/technology map for S2P with alignment to enterprise architecture principles, business strategy and technical standards

  • Work with solution teams during discovery, design and implementation to ensure:

    • Alignment to the architecture strategy

    • Traceability (from business requirements to technical design, build, testing and adoption)

    • Resolution of risks and issues

    • Mentorship of solution teams

  • Cultivate and leverage industry relationships

  • Understand and influence:

    • Technology and design decisions

    • Realized business outcomes: e.g. enabled value, cycle time and touch time, process optimization, compliance and/or security improvements

    • Integration strategy between procurement platforms (SAP Ariba), ERP/Finance (remote order, payment and tax) and third-party services

    • Data models (master data)

    • Process documentation and reconciliation between systems of record

    • Non-functional requirements: security, segregation of duties, auditability, regulatory/compliance controls (SOX, tax, trade sanctions), performance and scalability

    • Automation strategy

  • Conduct stakeholder workshops with Procurement, Finance, Legal, Tax, and Treasury to align process re-design and technology capabilities, and validate target-state process maps and RACI

Personal Attributes

  • Strategic thinker able to balance long-term target-state with pragmatic delivery trade-offs

  • Strong communicator who translates technical complexity and trade-offs into business impact

  • Able to present technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

  • Collaborative leader who mentors teams, builds consensus, and drives timely decisions – scaling capability across teams

  • Comfortable operating in ambiguous environments and managing multiple stakeholder priorities

  • Business-focused, results-oriented with attention to user experience, operational readiness and change management

  • Confident decision-maker who documents trade-offs and drives alignment

Deliverables & Success Metrics

  • Approved target-state S2P architecture and implementation roadmap aligned to procurement and finance strategy

    • Proof of Concepts (POCs) and vendor selections that de-risk approach and validate integration patterns

    • Smooth cutovers with documented runbooks, reconciliation processes, and operating model for S2P operations

    • Architecture design decision records

  • Reusable architecture artifacts, playbooks, and accelerators which are adopted across projects

  • High stakeholder satisfaction and collaboration

  • Successful delivery of solutions, reduced rework during implementation

  • Measurable business outcomes, ROI and KPIs

  • Major Tech Employers: Amazon, Microsoft, Meta, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, cloud computing, software, biotechnology, game development
