Chewy is seeking a complex and analytical Senior Category Manager to join our growing and merchandising team in WA, FL, or MA. We have innovative and adventurous plans at Chewy; building our Merchandising teams and businesses are at the top of our priorities. Our Sr. Category Managers are hard-working ambitious minded contributors that enjoy relevant and impactful results growing our brand. In this role, you will be responsible for the P&L for the category, have phenomenal negotiation skills to improve business terms, lead high profile vendor relationships, develop and complete business strategies, and find opportunities to accelerate your business.

Our ideal candidate is a versatile business leader with a track record of high performance, that can think big and operate at depth in parallel. The specific salary offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors including but not limited to the candidate's relevant experience, education, and work location. In addition, this position is eligible for 401k and a new hire and annual equity grant.

Salaried-exempt team members have unlimited PTO, subject to manager approval. Team members will receive six paid holidays per year. Team members may be eligible for paid sick and family leave in compliance with applicable state and local regulations.
Base Salary Range
$155,500-$170,000 USD

What You'll Do:
- Lead one of Chewy's most meaningful categories.
- Have full P&L ownership.
- Establish, build, and run strong external vendor relationships, including ownership across all negotiations.
- Continue to realize high double-digit growth rates; both for sales and profit.
- Build and implement, based on research and data insights, strategies and plans to both recruit new customers to Chewy and to develop existing customers via lifecycle management concepts.
- Find opportunities within your category to optimize and improve product performance, including analyzing sales data, assortment gaps, and market trends to make quick, effective decisions for your business.
- Work cross-functionally with finance, marketing, supply chain, pricing, and customer service to ensure collaboration as well as complete planning and execution
What You'll Need:
- 5+ years of complete business experience in ecommerce, merchandising, retail, FMCG, or similar organizations.
- Strong comprehensive eye for business and the willingness to adapt quickly. Sales/Merchandising experience.
- Validated operator, skilled in go-to-market, and with focus on execution.
- Great interpersonal skills combined with the ability to influence cross-functional partners.
- Outstanding proficiencies in vendor management/merchandising, and general management.
- Ability to lead, be flexible, prioritize, and run multiple projects simultaneously.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, specifically Excel, and solid understanding of retail math.
Bonus:
- Business and leadership experience in market-leading organizations; both in bigger organizations and start-up businesses.
- SQL a plus.
