Position Summary:
As a Field-Based Client Enablement Billing Specialist you will play a critical frontline role in reducing bad debt and improving cash collections by partnering directly with the Sales team and high-revenue clients. Your focus will be on identifying and resolving client-side issues that drive insurance denials—such as missing diagnosis codes, absent medical records, or lack of prior authorization.
This is a client-facing, field-based role that involves regular virtual meetings and travel to client sites to drive education, process improvements, and revenue integrity.
Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with Sales, Client Services, and Revenue Cycle teams to assess and improve client billing readiness and reduce denial risks.
  • Conduct root-cause analysis of client-triggered denials (e.g., incorrect or missing ICD-10 codes, incomplete documentation, or failure to obtain prior authorization).
  • Work directly with high-revenue clients to educate staff on payer requirements, documentation protocols, and billing workflows.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert on billing-related denials and the financial impact of non-compliant order submissions.
  • Provide onboarding support for new clients to ensure correct documentation practices from day one.
  • Develop and deliver training sessions and resources (live or virtual) to improve client compliance with billing and documentation requirements.
  • Partner with internal teams to build out process guides, client-specific SOPs, and corrective action plans.
  • Escalate persistent denial trends or systemic client behavior to internal leadership for strategic intervention.
  • Track metrics such as denial rate reduction, documentation compliance, and contribution to cash acceleration.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Experience & Required Qualifications:
  • Associates degree or equivalent experience required
  • 3-5 years of experience in medical billing, revenue cycle, or client setup (preferably in laboratory or diagnostic services)
  • Travel required 20-40% (some overnight travel required)
  • Strong understanding of healthcare billing processes, insurance plans, and payer requirements
  • Experience with denial management and claim appeals
  • High attention to detail and strong organizational skills
  • Proficiency with billing software, EHR/EMR systems, and Microsoft Excel
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills
  • Exceptional customer service skills
  • Knowledgeable about billing practices.  This may include knowledge of Test pricing and CPT coding, reimbursement processes; commercial billing accounts receivables, and follow up analysis
  • Proficiency in utilizing MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Microsoft Access and Webinars.
  • Ability to communicate appropriately with different audiences.
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and other documentation materials.
  • Able to think analytically, conceptually and systemically.
  • Able to collect and research data, draw valid conclusions and make appropriate decisions.

What you need to know about the Seattle Tech Scene

Home to tech titans like Microsoft and Amazon, Seattle punches far above its weight in innovation. But its surrounding mountains, sprinkled with world-famous hiking trails and climbing routes, make the city a destination for outdoorsy types as well. Established as a logging town before shifting to shipbuilding and logistics, the Emerald City is now known for its contributions to aerospace, software, biotech and cloud computing. And its status as a thriving tech ecosystem is attracting out-of-town companies looking to establish new tech and engineering hubs.

Key Facts About Seattle Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 287,000; 13% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Amazon, Microsoft, Meta, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, cloud computing, software, biotechnology, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $3.1 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Madrona, Fuse, Tola, Maveron
  • Research Centers and Universities: University of Washington, Seattle University, Seattle Pacific University, Allen Institute for Brain Science, Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, Seattle Children’s Research Institute
