Job Summary
The Senior Compensation Manager will provide compensation consulting support to our business operations teams in Manheim Shared Services. In addition to providing analytical and support services to this group they will also develop and implement compensation programs, policies, and procedures. The Senior Manager is responsible for ensuring that compensation plans align with the strategic goals of the company. They may manage a variety of special projects, including non-exempt pay policies, pay administration, bonus administration, operational incentive design, long-term incentives and oversight of the compensation elements within Workday. Projects may also involve revision, development and/or re-design of existing compensation programs
Primary Duties/Key Responsibilities
  • Contribute to the development of creative solutions on a variety of total compensation issues including the setting of appropriate base pay levels, market pricing, skills trends, offer analysis, job evaluations, annual target incentive pay, and local incentive plans; provide guidance to group and local leadership on best practices related to plans and processes.
  • Lead projects related to the implementation of company-wide compensation programs and systems across the business, including the year-end salary administration process and bonus payouts.
  • Partner to educate Human Resources Business Partners on all matters of compensation (e.g. internal and external equity issues, base pay, long/short-term incentives, other rewards).
  • Partner with People Analytics and HRTS teams to help build and maintain tools to support compensation solutions.
  • Work with communications partner to create messages that will advise and educate HRBPs and managers of our compensation events and programs.
  • Conduct various annual reviews including internal equity, merit movement, compa-ratio and other metrics for analysis, as needed.
  • Assist in the creation and documentation of standardized compensation processes
  • Complete market analytics to identify compensation anomalies in how Cox Automotive compares to market data.
  • Ensure all compensation programs are compliant with federal and state applicable laws and meeting organizational business objectives.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of both federal and state wage and hour laws, including FLSA.
  • Provide coaching/mentoring for more junior level team members.
  • May perform other initiatives as assigned by department leadership.

Required Experience & Specialized Knowledge and Skills
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Human Resource Management, or in related discipline and 8+ years' related work experience in Compensation.
  • The right candidate could also have a different combination of experience, such as a master's degree and 6 years' experience; a Ph.D. and 3 years' experience, JD and 3 years' experience; or 12 years' experience in a related field in lieu of a degree.
  • Builds and maintains strong working relationships with HR Business Partners, clients, and key stakeholders.
  • Strong qualitative and analytical skills including manipulating data, querying, and reporting required.
  • Includes ability to analyze and research compensation trends and partner with appropriate internal and external resources.
  • Self-motivated and driven individual that can work in a high performance, fast-paced team environment.
  • Excellent communication and analytical skills; able to conceptualize data as it relates to compensation variables and recommendations; ability to interpret business objectives and successfully incorporate those into compensation strategies.
  • Knowledge of industry practices and understanding of compensation principles, concepts, and practices including compliance with state and federal laws.
  • Ability to interact with and influence senior executives to successfully deliver reporting results and recommendations related to compensation plan strategy, design or outcomes.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and data privacy.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft suite, including Excel, PowerPoint, Word.

Preferred Experience
  • Experience with Hourly employees preferred in a matrixed environment
  • System experience including, business process design, reporting and data management within a HRIS database system, e.g., Workday, PeopleSoft, Workday's Advanced Comp module preferred.
  • System experience within a Time and Attendance database system, e.g., UKG or Workday preferred.

USD 122,600.00 - 204,400.00 per year
Compensation:
Compensation includes a base salary of $122,600.00 - $204,400.00. The base salary may vary within the anticipated base pay range based on factors such as the ultimate location of the position and the selected candidate's knowledge, skills, and abilities. Position may be eligible for additional compensation that may include an incentive program.
Benefits:
The Company offers eligible employees the flexibility to take as much vacation with pay as they deem consistent with their duties, the company's needs, and its obligations; seven paid holidays throughout the calendar year; and up to 160 hours of paid wellness annually for their own wellness or that of family members. Employees are also eligible for additional paid time off in the form of bereavement leave, time off to vote, jury duty leave, volunteer time off, military leave, and parental leave.
