Role Description

As a Senior Competitive Intelligence Manager on the Marketing & Competitive Intelligence (MCI) team, you will play a critical role in helping Dropbox win in the market by supporting our global Sales and Channel teams with actionable competitive insights, enablement content, and strategic deal support.

This role is tailored for a PMM who thrives at the intersection of competitive strategy and sales execution. You’ll be responsible for creating battle cards, field briefings, objection-handling guidance, and win/loss insights that directly impact how Dropbox positions itself against competitors across Dropbox file sync and Dropbox Dash.

You’ll partner closely with Sales leadership, Solution Engineers, Enablement, and Campaigns teams to ensure that competitive intelligence is deeply integrated into the GTM motion.

This is an ideal role for a highly analytical and persuasive communicator with a background in sales-facing product marketing, competitive intelligence, or strategic market research, and a passion for helping sales teams close deals faster and smarter.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct continuous competitive research by monitoring earnings calls, analyst reports, third-party tools (e.g., AlphaSense, Crayon, Gong) and field intelligence to uncover strategic insights that inform deal strategy and sales enablement.
  • Partner closely with our Sales Enablement team to deliver competitive intelligence content and insights that improve field performance—this includes creating and maintaining battle cards, executive briefings, competitor deep dives, and other enablement assets used globally by Sales and Channel teams.
  • Use tools like Clozd to run win/loss interviews and analysis, synthesizing key takeaways into actionable insights for Sales, Product, and Marketing teams.
  • Partner with Sales leadership, Enablement, and Solutions Engineering to deliver regular competitive briefings, support strategic deals, and guide objection-handling best practices.
  • Collaborate with PMM, Demand Generation, and Campaigns teams to integrate competitive insights into messaging, positioning, and GTM content.
  • Work cross-functionally with Research & Insights and Analyst Relations to assess market opportunities, customer perception shifts, and emerging threats.
  • Create clear, compelling deliverables for senior leadership, including competitive deep dives, dashboards, and presentation-ready summaries of key developments.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in competitive intelligence, product marketing, market research, business intelligence, or a related strategic function.
  • Proven ability to translate complex competitive insights into clear, actionable recommendations for GTM teams and executives.
  • Experience working closely with Sales teams to provide competitive deal support, objection handling, and strategic positioning.
  • Strong data analysis skills, with experience leveraging qualitative and quantitative research methods to drive decision-making.
  • Exceptional written, verbal, and visual communication skills, with the ability to craft compelling reports, presentations, and battlecards.
  • Ability to work cross-functionally with Sales, Product, and Marketing to shape strategy and influence decision-making.
  • Comfortable working in fast-paced, ambiguous environments, with a proactive and self-starter mindset.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Background in market opportunity assessments and strategic forecasting.
  • Familiarity with CI tools like Crayon, Klue, AlphaSense, Clozd, and Gong.
  • MBA or advanced business/marketing strategy experience.

What you need to know about the Seattle Tech Scene

Home to tech titans like Microsoft and Amazon, Seattle punches far above its weight in innovation. But its surrounding mountains, sprinkled with world-famous hiking trails and climbing routes, make the city a destination for outdoorsy types as well. Established as a logging town before shifting to shipbuilding and logistics, the Emerald City is now known for its contributions to aerospace, software, biotech and cloud computing. And its status as a thriving tech ecosystem is attracting out-of-town companies looking to establish new tech and engineering hubs.

Key Facts About Seattle Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 287,000; 13% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Amazon, Microsoft, Meta, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, cloud computing, software, biotechnology, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $3.1 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Madrona, Fuse, Tola, Maveron
  • Research Centers and Universities: University of Washington, Seattle University, Seattle Pacific University, Allen Institute for Brain Science, Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, Seattle Children’s Research Institute
