- Understand supply chain business processes and data flows through an integrated supply chain environment
- Define and refine requirements to build robust, adaptable architectures encompassing legacy system and newer technology such as SaaS products
- Set design constraints ensuring alignment with business needs
- Integrate architecture into the Software Development Lifecycle for agility and efficiency
- Lead development of architecture models and guide the team toward practical, visionary solutions
- Evaluate solutions through trade-off analyses to inform strategic decisions
- Champion best practices and set organizational standards
- Assess architectural impacts on the product lifecycle for sustainable, scalable outcomes
- Shape product architecture and data management strategies for the future
- Identify and remove technical impediments in product designs and implementations
- Evaluate new products in the domain for the suitability
Position Responsibilities:
- Lead the development and documentation of comprehensive system architectures encompassing hardware, software, and networks
- Translate business needs into clear technical specifications and architectural solutions
- Produce and maintain road maps for current and future states
- Collaborate closely with business analysts and stakeholders to gather, analyze, and validate system requirements
- Provide informed recommendations for adoption and integration strategies
- Communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical audiences
- Engage with development teams, project managers, and stakeholders to align architecture
- Provide technical leadership throughout the project lifecycle
- Embed security best practices into system designs
- Collaborate with security teams to identify vulnerabilities and develop mitigation strategies
- Maintain detailed and up-to-date documentation architecture, design decisions, and technical specifications
- Research and assess emerging technologies, tools, and frameworks
- Design and implement integration strategies ensuring seamless connectivity and data flow
- Define and standardize Application Programming Interfaces (APIs), protocols, and communication methods for interoperability
- Analyze system performance to identify bottlenecks and enhance efficiency, scalability, and reliability
- Monitor progress to ensure compliance with architectural standards and best practices
- Stay current with industry trends and best practices
- Lead initiatives to improve processes, tools, and methodologies in system design and development
- Proactively identify challenges and make timely, well-informed decisions independently
- Foster cooperative relationships across teams
- Adapt flexibly to changing environments, priorities, and organizational needs
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
- Bachelor's degree or higher
- 5+ years of experience in the defense or aerospace industry
- 5+ years of experience with Supply Chain
- 5+ years of experience working in transportation management or Global Inventory and Warehouse management (IWM)
- 5+ years of experience with software development, systems architecture, and programming
- 5+ years of experience working with the Cloud
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
- 10+ years of experience in a role which required strong interpersonal and communication skills
- 10+ years of experience leading successful Lean and process improvement initiatives across an IT organization
- 10+ years of experience with IT4IT, ITIL, Agile, DevOps, and/or other relevant frameworks
- 10+ years of experience leading large-scale IT transformation projects
- 5+ years of experience automating and optimizing Supply Chain processes
- 5+ years of experience of supply chain management and how technology supports end-to-end business processes (e.g. Inventory, warehouse and, logistics, etc.)
- Experience with warehouse automation virtual lift machine (VLM), robotics & warehouse capability
