Assurant is seeking an experienced Senior Corporate Paralegal to provide high-level support to the Legal Department, focusing on intellectual property (IP) portfolio management and procurement contract support. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented professional with deep experience in corporate governance, IP filings, and vendor contract lifecycle management. This is remote opportunity.

What will be my duties and responsibilities in this job?

  • Manage daily tasks to meet the demands of the Legal & Compliance department, and specifically the IP & Procurement practice group, including drafting various types of third-party contracts, including master agreements, statements of work, renewals, amendments, and terminations with minimal oversight by the Lead Attorneys of the IP and Procurement practice group.

  • Perform research, compile and analyze data, and provide recommendations in response to internal and external requests.

  • Partner with the attorneys in the Legal & Compliance department to assist with various corporate governance projects or initiatives, including ideas for projects to enhance the IP & Procurement practice
    group’s standards and procedures.

  • Perform minor administrative tasks for the IP & Procurement practice group, which may include calendaring events, expense reimbursement, booking travel, and other administrative matters.

 

What are the requirements needed for this position?

  • Minimum of 6 years of corporate paralegal experience required (ideally within the legal department of a public company or insurance company) or a law firm

  • Bachelor’s degree or ABA-approved paralegal certification

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office programs including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint

  • Knowledge of legal terminology, procedures, and use of computer-based research tools and resources

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, ability to communicate effectively with all levels of the organization internally and externally

  • Highly autonomous and self-motivated work ethic; demonstrating sound judgment, initiative, and an ability to manage multiple priorities with a sense of urgency

  • Demonstrate an ability to handle matters of a sensitive and confidential nature, and the capacity to maintain composure while working under pressure

  • Strong ability to manage/lead projects

  • Although travel will not be common for this position, the paralegal must be willing to travel, as necessary, within and outside of the State.

Pay Range:

$63,400.00 - $105,800.00

Any posted pay range considers a wide range of compensation factors, including candidate background, experience and work location, while also allowing for salary growth within the position.
