The Boeing CompanyThe Boeing Company has a unique and exciting opportunity for a Senior Customer Engineer - Account Manager to join Boeing Commercial Airplanes (BCA) Customer Engineering located in Renton or Everett, WA. The selected candidate will join Customer Engineering as an Account Manager.
After joining the Customer Engineering function, the selected candidate(s) may be placed into one of the roles below.
Primary responsibilities:
Model Manager:
- Acts as a technical focal to program leadership in configuration management, customer focus, program strategy, and customer engineering knowledge.
- Leads the investigation and development of solutions to emergent, routine, and sustaining program issues and influence solutions to multidisciplinary program-level issues.
- Resolves and removes technical, procedural, and inter-organizational roadblocks that arise during all stages of airplane configuration development from pre-proposal to delivery.
Lead Account Manager:
- Leads a team of Account Managers, who are the primary technical interface between customers and Boeing Commercial Airplanes responsible for defining the contractual airplane configuration.
- Establishes, maintain and oversee Account Manager relationships with airplane customers and guide them through the development, management, and delivery of their airplane configuration.
- Develops and mentors Account Managers in your workgroup.
- Advises, assists and checks work products as appropriate.
- Coordinates and resolves cross-model and significant issues with Sales, Contracts, Marketing, Programs, Engineering, and Customer. These issues may relate to seats, galleys, lavatories, in-flight entertainment, connectivity options, flight deck avionics, monuments, cargo systems, lights, etc.
Delivery Center Leader:
- Provides the necessary guidance to the Customer Engineer account managers and Delivery Center personnel in support of on-time deliveries for all model airplanes.
- Responsible for documenting and communicating any significant issues or developments that could affect airplane delivery.
- Coordinates resolution of technical issues affecting multiple Customers with Program, Contracts, and Account Managers during the delivery phase of the airplane lifecycle.
- Establishes a routine Customer Engineering presence during Delivery Center meetings and activities.
- Provides guidance and support to account managers during the delivery process.
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills and Experience):
- Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science.
- 14+ years of related work experience.
- Ability to travel both domestically and internationally. (Approximately 10% of the time.)
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills and Experience):
- Master’s degree in engineering or related field.
- 15+ years of engineering experience in Boeing Commercial Airplanes.
- 8+ years of experience in Customer Engineering.
