About The Role
We are looking for a Senior Data Engineer to help shape and scale Addition Wealth’s data infrastructure. You’ll play a key role in designing, building, and maintaining the systems that power our analytics, personalization, and financial insights. You’ll collaborate closely with product and engineering to ensure that high-quality, reliable data drives every decision we make and every experience we deliver.
What You’ll Work On
- Design, build, and maintain data pipelines and ETL processes to support analytics, reporting, and personalization features.
- Develop and optimize data models and warehousing solutions using Postgres, Snowflake, and modern data lake architectures.
- Build scalable and secure data infrastructure on AWS, leveraging services like S3, Lambda, Glue, Step Functions, ECS, and Matillion.
- Collaborate with engineers to instrument event tracking and data flows from our web applications.
- Partner with business and analytics stakeholders to ensure data quality, consistency, and reliability across systems.
- Improve CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure-as-code setups (Terraform, CloudFormation) for data systems.
- Contribute to data governance, observability, and monitoring strategies to maintain high availability and accuracy.
- Mentor junior engineers and influence the technical direction of Addition Wealth’s data strategy.
What we're looking for
- 5+ years of experience in data engineering or backend engineering with strong data infrastructure focus.
- Deep experience with AWS services (e.g., S3, Lambda, Redshift, Glue, Step Functions) and infrastructure as code tools (Terraform, CloudFormation).
- Strong skills in SQL, data modeling, and ETL pipeline development (Airflow, dbt, or similar).
- Proficiency in a modern programming language (Python, TypeScript, or similar).
- Familiarity with containerization (Docker, Kubernetes) and serverless architectures.
- Understanding of data privacy and compliance in financial or regulated environments is a plus.
- A bias for action — you prefer to launch, learn, and iterate quickly.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to translate complex data needs into actionable engineering work.
- A product mindset — you think about the end-user impact of your systems.
- Experience with Matillion a plus
