As a Senior DevOps Engineer and member of the Customer Facing DevOps team you will architect, build, and support cloud-based networking and computing infrastructure. You will embed with the Clinical Information Services team whose data warehouse is responsible for hundreds of terabytes of information and is at the heart of our machine learning and artificial intelligence products. 

In this role... 

  • Your focus will be on automating the building, delivering, and support of their Java application development leveraging Amazon Web Services and Databricks Platforms using modern Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, CDK, CloudFormation), event streaming infrastructure (Apache Kafka, AWS Kinesis), and CI/CD Automation and Platforms (GitHub Actions, Jenkins). 
  • You will engage with the development and product teams across IDEXX’s Data and Artificial Intelligence Center of Excellence to ensure that the solutions are tuned to address business requirements by gathering metrics and identifying and implementing system enhancements. 
  • You will also track and understand new developments in cloud technologies and, when applicable, apply them to new and existing configurations. 
  • This role will allow you to grow your career and learn new technologies through cutting edge training sessions. 
  • Expect a highly collaborative environment. Our DevOps engineers are embedded with development teams and work with our Scrum teams on continuously delivering reliable and intuitive products. 
  • Active and integral participant in the Scrum/Agile process for the Telemedicine Team 
  • Work with software reliability team, software developers, and business partners to increase reliability through automation 
  • Collaborate with fellow DevOps teammates to learn/teach and experience everything that the organization has to offer in the way of technology 

What do you need to succeed?  

  • 5+ years experience working within Software Development teams as an embedded DevOps Engineer. 
  • Cloud infrastructure experience (with a strong preference working with AWS and Databricks) 
  • Researches and develops DevOps solutions using infrastructure as code (Python, Bash, PowerShell). 
  • System administration experience or exposure (Linux preferably) 
  • Configuration Management experience (Ansible, Puppet, Chef) 
  • Location: this role is 100% remote so you can be anywhere in the US but need to be able to work 9-5 Eastern time zone hours. 
  • Technologies used: Amazon Web Services, Databricks, Jenkins, Apache Kafka or AWS Kinesis, Terraform Cloud, AWS CloudFormation, Linux, Docker, GitHub Actions and Advanced Security 

What you can expect from us:

  • Base annual salary target: $110000- $120000 (yes, we do have flexibility if needed)
